I currently work as a radio presenter at Fine Music FM. I ran a successful aviation consultancy from 1980-2000. The Air Charter business gave me experience of: • Writing promotional literature, news articles, “advertorials”, etc. • Drafting, often at very short notice, contractual arrangements to reflect the wide variety of industries served by the aircraft charter industry. • Communicating effectively with non English-speakers. • International trade and project management. • Improvising solutions to operational problems under great pressure. • Performing rapid cost-assessments of charter tasks, enabling customers to respond rapidly to emerging business opportunities. • Writing ad hoc spreadsheets to model transient business opportunities. • Compliance with legislative requirements for the operation of aircraft, transport of live animals, and other applicable regulatory regimes. • Operating in a very stressful, 24-hour environment, using costly capital assets, where large sums of money may be lost with a simple delay. • Design of special crates and loading devices for expeditious, humane and safe loading and carriage of livestock on aircraft. • Communicating with non English-speakers.  less
