I am an electric power and renewable energy industry professional with almost seven years of experience delivering data driven business services to customers at different parts of the value chain beginning from power generation, distribution, supply, and end-user energy management.
My career started in Meralco as a sales and project engineer. There I handled electrical interface applications for medium to large commercial and industrial customers. I then pursued a career in renewable energy and started in operations and maintenance of wind turbines of Northwind. I worked with a team of multinational specialists to maintain and repair Vestas V82 wind turbines on site. I then moved back to the city to pursue MBA studies in Ateneo and become a project engineer in Novergy. There I worked with Enertime's team of engineers offering advice, technology and financing solutions to industry and small renewable energy developers. I was also asked to represent Novergy in a Biomass Sector lobby group as a staff and contributor. This group developed proposals for a biomass feed-in-tariff to the National Renewable Energy Board (NREB). After working for two small companies I sought the challenge of a larger organization. And so I decided to join SMC Global Power. There, I worked in several areas of their operations starting in sales, then billing, internal audit and utility economics. After these roles I was assigned a procurement position to secure contracts to build two 300MW coal power plants. One was in Bataan and the other in Davao. I enjoyed success in securing these contracts with significant savings to the company while keeping our suppliers happy.
Renewable energy is a passion. So when offered to join the Energy Development Corporation, I jumped in. I facilitate innovation by creating strategic bridges from plans to implementation. These ideas grow our business, make it more reliable and efficient, and keep it in harmony with our community and the environment.
