Over the last 9 years I have developed a wide range of applications including scripting resources, complete web-sites, and win-forms applications in VB 6, VB. NET, and C# working with the .NET framework through 3.5. I have worked with many types of back-end database systems including Dbase-IV, paradox, Oracle 6, MySQL 4 & 5, MSSQL 2000 & 2005. I am particularly adept at relating and manipulating data and finding ways of linking information together. I enjoy and am good at understanding others designs and finding and repairing specific flaws. I am always seeking a challenge, the opportunity to hone my development skills and grow in all aspects of my professional career. At the root of everything I like solving problems, and my extremely logical thinking and methodical approach to things make me efficient at what I like to do.
I enjoy solving challenging problems and utilizing technology to creatively design efficient, cost-effective solutions to meet business needs. I have been designing, writing, implementing, and supporting quality software solutions for multiple decades. My forte is understanding business and thereby designing real solutions that solve real business problems. I have the unique ability to speak in the language of business rather than using computer jargon and buzz words. With extensive experience in many industries and "real world" working environments, I am able to provide the best in quality software design and development.
I like challenges. I prefer Microsoft ASP and ASP.net programming, but I'm the guy who tackles things that I've never seen before. The guy who walked into a company that developed their own proprietary language system based off Python (why? Because they could I suppose) that was similar to PHP, and picked it up and was developing applications and solving bugs on my second day. I'm the guy who walked into the JSP shop and learned on the fly and was interfacing with EJB's on day 3 (day 2 was administering websphere). Languages come easy to me, and coding comes natural. I wear a lot of hats. You might be able to see that from my experience, but I have a hand and knowledge in a lot of different areas. I can administer a database just as well as I can script middleware for an e-commerce platform, and those just as well as I can make the front-end work in cross browser HTML and look good. I like this because I'm not necessarily stuck doing the same thing day in and day out. Big Scary Projects don't scare me. I've developed government accounting systems that involved more red tape than should be legal, and scripted websites that are now the center for their respective company's customer approach. The thrill in each of these projects was the complexity, and being able to see the big picture and making it all come together piece by piece. I laugh. I think personally that this is something that is more important than the other three I listed above. The world doesn't get me down, and stress doesn't make me crazy. I know how to diffuse tension, and can communicate well with other people, including bosses, direct reports, and co-workers.
