LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/tarasmatyashovsky Hello world :) I am not only creative and decent person but also a software design engineer/team lead working professionally for more than 4 years in the area of distributed web application development. My core competency lies in standard and enterprise Java technologies. Also I have experience with Groovy/Grails applications, Facebook API, Jasper Reports, etc. I can work independently or provide a small team of sophisticated colleagues. Consumers we have worked with include both startups and proven industry representatives: Ebay/MarktPlaats.nl, Jaspersoft, HP/TippingPoint, FrostDigital, Monsanto, Grid Dynamics, Ontario Systems, etc. Languages which I can easily communicate in both verbally and in writing are English, Russian, Slovakian and Ukrainian. I've worked as an interpreter for ENEMO (European Network of Election Monitoring Organization) mission during election process in Ukraine (2005, 2010) and received excellent feedback on my English skills. I'm doing my job quickly and with high-quality cause good reputation always matters. Please feel free to contact me concerning any development request or business proposal.
I like challenges. I prefer Microsoft ASP and ASP.net programming, but I'm the guy who tackles things that I've never seen before. The guy who walked into a company that developed their own proprietary language system based off Python (why? Because they could I suppose) that was similar to PHP, and picked it up and was developing applications and solving bugs on my second day. I'm the guy who walked into the JSP shop and learned on the fly and was interfacing with EJB's on day 3 (day 2 was administering websphere). Languages come easy to me, and coding comes natural. I wear a lot of hats. You might be able to see that from my experience, but I have a hand and knowledge in a lot of different areas. I can administer a database just as well as I can script middleware for an e-commerce platform, and those just as well as I can make the front-end work in cross browser HTML and look good. I like this because I'm not necessarily stuck doing the same thing day in and day out. Big Scary Projects don't scare me. I've developed government accounting systems that involved more red tape than should be legal, and scripted websites that are now the center for their respective company's customer approach. The thrill in each of these projects was the complexity, and being able to see the big picture and making it all come together piece by piece. I laugh. I think personally that this is something that is more important than the other three I listed above. The world doesn't get me down, and stress doesn't make me crazy. I know how to diffuse tension, and can communicate well with other people, including bosses, direct reports, and co-workers. Specialties • 14 years hands-on experience in admin, development, and management. • System Development Life Cycle – all phases. • Created e-commerce platforms that currently take in 5 million in annual revenue. • Planned and administered million dollar annual budgets. • Researched and managed projects with 2 week scopes to 1 year timelines.
