Professional Translator with ample experience in translating marketing materials for big companies such as Lowes, Univision, Carlton Wagon Travel, Telefonica, MilkBone, and WellsFargo among others. I have translated one book on organic beekeeping currently undergoing the process of publishing, and have another organic beekeeping book underway. As well as translated a published e-book on Steve Jobs.
My experience as translator with non-profits and governmental organizations is also prominent. I have translated everything from marketing materials, press releases, internal documents, policy, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), grant proposals and reports. Organizations range from adult literacy organizations to San Francisco public libraries, the Trifinio Commission, IDEA public schools in Texas, and animal protection organizations.
For six years I worked as data manager for two non-profit organizations, and now provide consultant data management services and software training. I prepare outcomes reports, using program data to reflect successes and positive outcomes to funders, as well as used data constructively in grant proposals.
Other translation experience includes: blogs and social media translations, website translation, press release translations, e-book translations, employee survey translations, insurance letters, tax forms, financial, medical, and legal documents and contracts. I currently work with several translation agencies as a freelancer.
I am also a writer. I currently write content for several blogs on the following topics: running with dogs (fitness), homeschooling/unschooling, organic gardening, window farming (container gardening for small spaces), and veganism. I served as co-editor of Volunteer Voices, a newsletter of Literacy Partners, Inc. where I also managed their program data and translated their Spanish section of their website.
In a volunteer capacity, I translated and managed a bilingual website and blog for Defensores de Animales, and managed their social media. This later transformed into a consultant role.
I am a native Spanish speaker from a multi-cultural family, educated in a bilingual environment, and later graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a degree in Comparative Literature.
Other trainings include: Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access trainings from DataLink; Grant Writing workshops from the Support Center for Nonprofit Management; Presenting Visual Data from Tech4Good, Educational Curriculum Building from Literacy Assistance Center.
