An Australian copywriter with over 14 years’ experience, I got my first full-time agency position when renowned advertising profile Steve Trygg saw the work I was doing whilst studying at Berghs School of Communication, one of Europe’s foremost marketing academies. Steve immediately offered me employment at his B2B agency SandbergTrygg, at whose European headquarters I then worked in parallel with my copywriting studies. This was way back in 2001. Covering quite technical accounts in the telecommunications, trucking and stock-trading industries, I stayed with SandbergTrygg until relocating to Cairns in 2003. Adpower Plus, at the time North Queensland’s largest advertising agency, then employed me to service their clients – a mix of B2B and B2C companies and organisations, including Stockland Shopping Centres, Pacific Toyota, Medtel, Tourism Tropical North Queensland and Cairns Convention Centre, to name a few. Having made my mark on the Queensland market, I proceeded to go international with my own business in 2006 and have since worked for clients ranging from large corporations and organisations such as Rio Tinto, City West Water and the Maavarim Group to smaller outfits such as Zimperium Technologies, Enteract and Joolca. This has involved research, analysis, conceptualisation, copywriting and creative direction for numerous very different products. In other words: I’m equally at home advertising fast-moving products in the Western retail market as I am selling hospital equipment to African governments. Every last bit of my creative is built on solid research. Simply put, I not only come up with HOW to convey your message; I also provide the strategy required to decide WHAT to say. Since 2011, I am based out of Melbourne, where I run the strategic marketing agency Plant Advertising. And it’s only now that this piece of text is going to get truly valuable to you, because, for all that I’ve told you above, what really matters is how good my actual copy is, right? So, check out the work samples at www.plantadvertising.com or have a look in the special Dropbox folder that I’ve prepared for oDesk clients at http://bit.ly/1t95lkB Remember, whatever copywriter you end up selecting for your project, the whole point of creative is to increase sales or otherwise convince your target group of this, that or the other – and far from all copy does that. Bottom line: if you’re going to compromise on your marketing, you might as well not do it at all. Looking forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Paul Walden

I am a professional, accurate, native English writer, specializing in travel writing. With my degree in Broadcast Communications, I write for blogs, articles, newsletters, social media, emails, travel proposals and more. I enjoy writing destination articles and travel specials, as well as travel advice blogs. In addition to travel writing, I manage social media accounts for several companies, travel, restaurant and non-profit to name a few. Social Media Marketing is an important step in increasing engagement with your customers, and providing a two-way conversation that is unique in business advertising. I believe in the 80/20 rule with 80% engagement and interaction, and 20% promotional. Previously, I have developed curriculum and training for large call centers as well as facilitating training for K-12, retail, call centers and small business. I have trained one to one as well as large groups, both in person and virtually. I also have experience providing technical support to home and business users. I am a talented linguistic navigator; a motivated and captivating wordsmith, selling my talents and slinging my style to the highest bidder. I write website content, sales copy, and SEO articles for online marketers to earn my bread, and I spout off at the mouth for the butter. I have a highly opinionated blog at http://Zackrex.com, which includes a portfolio as well as many sporadic ramblings for your reading pleasure. Your project, assignment, or article--whatever the case may be--can be interpreted in a voice as monotone and unenthusiastic as a phone book read aloud by Henry Kissinger, but you'd probably prefer a booming and bombastic concerto, painstakingly crafted to make ears ring with ecstatic pleasure and wallets open up with ardent zeal. If you're looking for the former, I suggest you find a different scribe. I specialize in the sort of syntax that sings while it sells. I also have a Bachelor's degree in English literature that I never got around to framing. You see, I live in a condo without an enclosed office and scarce wall space. I thought it better suited me to adorn my surroundings with Pink Floyd album covers and Salvador Dali paintings, rather than remind myself that I'm a dreary academic with an expensive piece of paper hanging above the P.C. So drop me a line, and we can make beautiful music together. Or I can write something for you. Whatever. I'm anything but picky.

I launched two successful consumer lifestyle publications in Asia, and ran them as Managing Editor. I have written lifestyle columns for Ink Publishing's roster of in-flight magazines and contributed articles to publications around the world.
I'm a copywriter and editor with a knack for crafting compelling brand stories. I specialize in web copy, often focusing on re-branding existing content or improving UX. In addition, I have experience editing dissertations for Ph.D. candidates and clients who speak English as a second language. If we're talking business, I'm at my best when I'm writing to-the-point pieces for industries with customers who appreciate wit and distrust used car salesmen. Making sure your voice and message is communicated authentically is my goal.

I'm a professional multi-media journalist who can write, edit, research, produce, and design high-quality content on almost any topic and for any medium. From creating blog and social media posts to complete marketing communications plans, I have worked with clients including university programs, acupuncturists, chefs, commercial painters, e-commerce sites, news sites and forums, and more. I do not compromise my high ethical standards. Sorry, but I do not accept jobs that involve "ghostwriting" without credit, "spinning" and stealing others' copyrighted work, or other shady practices. What you get with me is a passionate, hard-working, detail-oriented, mass communications expert. What you do not get is someone who will rush the job or be a mindless "yes man" -- if I accept a job then I am committing to give you my best work effort, and that includes sometimes offering suggestions or advice -- getting you the final product you NEED, not just the one you think you want. I generally do not do Skype interviews or meetings for any projects paying less than $1,000. I am happy to answer any questions through ODesk or email, and I am happy to do a trial period for any ongoing positions. Sorry, but the reason I choose to do online freelancing is to make my own schedule and work in my pajamas; if you can't deal with that then best of luck finding someone who is a better fit for you.
