I am a seasoned graphics professional, with 25+ years in the print-production field and a lifetime in the illustration/cartooning sphere. I can do everything... design, layout, photography, editing, writing, illustration, cartooning, cartography, prepress, and more. My work is about 80% print, 15% illustration, 5% web right now... I'd like to bring more focus in on the illustration and web portion (but not ignore the print). I illustrate in freehand and on the computer, and am adaptable to practically any style. I primarily use Photoshop & Illustrator for finalizing illustrations, which may begin on paper or in ArtRage, Painter or SketchBook (via Wacom). You can see daily samples of my work on Facebook; search for "Vin's Vignettes."

I work with clients to grow their businesses, organizations and marketing goals. I am based in beautiful Colorado Springs where the natural landscape inspires me in new ways every day. For me, graphic design is all about people: making connections, leaving an impression and building reputations. In 2009, I earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Art from Michigan State University, was the recipient of the annual Graphic Design Recognition Award and selected to represent the College of Arts & Letters at a university wide colloquium. I started my career working as a Graphic Designer and Special Events Coordinator in Lansing Michigan’s Historic Old Town. After a year, I moved to northern Michigan off the shores of Lake Superior and put my design, marketing and entrepreneurial skills into opening my own business. My restaurant, gas station & gift shop exceeded the annual expectation in less than two months. By capitalizing on various marketing strategies and providing exceptional customer service, the business attracted a huge amount of tourism to an otherwise destitute area. Three very successful years later, I stepped down to a consultant role so that I could have the freedom to travel and began taking design clients once again. Now I call the Rocky Mountains home and I have a personal assistant: a lovely, two-year-old Labrador named “Stella.” I look forward to meeting new people and taking on new projects. Looking forward to hearing from you!
