After seven years of making JSP/Oracle based applications for the financial industry I turned back to my original interest: making bespoke PHP based SEO ready websites for small businesses using my own CMS developed over the last twelve years. I always try to stay sharp, keeping an eye on and using the latest developments and recommendations of the industry leaders (HTML5, W3C and Google recommendations, etc). During the years I've learnt how web serving works from low level networking thru Linux to HTTP, I think I see fairly far beyond common PHP programming. Google's Android platform is also in the focus of my interest, I am developing small independent apps since Android 1.5.
I am currently seeking a position as a Systems Engineer. The academic and professional experience I have acquired over the years have helped me develop into a well rounded engineer with skills to tackle projects with a wide variety of requirements. My most recent experiences have provided extensive experience installing, configuring and testing systems on different operating systems including Linux, Windows and MAC. Systems have ranged from enterprise level digital media and media delivery applications, to proprietary direct digital advertising agents to embedded network sensor modules used for institutional research. I have been trained through graduate level coursework and practical experience in TCP/IP networking, data center operations, routing techniques, RF communications, digital communications, antenna theory, EM theory, digital signal processing, storage area networks, embedded systems, linux system administration and streaming technology. Working in companies that vary from a large multinational media conglomerate to a start-up endeavor with no more than four employees, I have had to learn to be flexible and complete simultaneous projects that include large scale infrastructure changes to multiple client configurations. Through this process, the importance of time management, prioritization, consistent internal and external communication and documentation have been reinforced and refined. The utilization of these skills will be fundamental to being part of a successful team and organization moving forward.

On top of my SharePoint 2010 and MCT Certification, I also have my NFPA 70E certification and enjoy doing home electrical projects. I enjoy performing task from building transistor radios to wiring homes. I obtained my NFPA certification while working at Huber Engineered Woods. Hello I am Jeremy (some prefer to call me Jez, my informal name), I have at least 5 years of industry experience in Ecommerce web administration and user end development (both customer facing and back office support). I take a high pride approach to my work, I would confess yes I am a perfectionist, though always get what a user wants on time and to their liking through constant (sometimes over) communication. So any shortfalls of any prospective systems are resolved as soon as possible. I previously worked for Cartridge World British Franchise Support loved my time there before unfortunately (or fortunately for me?) got left redundant last November, came as a massive shock for me, my first idea was to start and embark on a freelance career for my own making and here I am. I have a Higher National Diploma in Computer Science, can be a bit pedantic at times even with web design at my own admission (really I see this as a positive I have huge attention to detail (in fact that's my major strong point). I shudder at the people who don't have this skill which allot of freelancers lack I have come to know in the past (through my own experience with them). Basically I love setting my goals high, I feel learning is what I love about what I do, if I don't have a challenge I get not so much bored (don't want to make it sound like basic tasks for me are a bore, which they aren't (they really aren't). I like the feeling of being wanted and I like to feel wanted by my clients. I have a proven track record of getting Cartridge Worlds fist ecommerce site up off the ground and working (as referenced by my former boss Gavin Askew [now] the Distributions Manager for Britain and France. I would love to discuss your project needs and requirements and let me add something to your project and above all I have huge enthusiasm for my work (why be a freelancer in a job you hate is all I say!) Take care and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Jeremy.
