MetaTrader 4 Programmer (MQL4) I'm a professional programmer with over 5 years experience in trading forex and converting / interpreting systems for Expert Advisor automation. As a Company Director (CEO) of over 15 years I always work to high standards in a completely professional and ethical manner. Being UK based, I am fully conversant with the complexities of the English language and can convey complex points in an understandable manner. All indicators, expert advisors and scripts I produce are professionally coded, tested and robust, and include the following as standard (where appropriate): - 4/5 digit broker compatibility - Automatic time zone / offset recognition - Built in error checks - Built in safety features (i.e. Closure of orders where stop loss setting fails) I have previously coded the following complex scenarios which can be readily built into future projects: - Serial number protection linked to varying expiry dates - Restriction of indicators/expert advisors to specific chart types and/or timeframes - Automatic changing of charts to correct timeframes - Lot sizing based on account risk percentages - Spreadbetting compatibility - News avoidance (eg. Stopping trades around high impact releases) - Scraping for retrieving information from web sites / RSS feeds I have developed a robust licencing system which can be encoded into any EA or indicator. It allows on-line authorization, chart and time-frame restrictions plus allows remote changing of EA/indicator settings and variables. Please ask for a demo if you are interested. All expert advisors are coded to provide for enhanced optimization and quick backtesting. As a supplementary service I can create professional looking installers and autorun front ends for installation CD's, USB sticks, etc., including the incorporation of logos and branding graphics. I also have experience writing technical manuals, creating video tutorials and preparing seminars.

When I was 11, my parents showed me how to use Excel to track my trading card collection. Today, I'm a spreadsheet ninja. I know pivot tables like the back of my hand, I can script you out a macro in a matter of hours, and I can nest functions together in ways you've never thought possible. Big words, sure, but I back it up. I have built reports, ad hoc and repetitive, that have gone as high as the board of directors of Fortune 500 corporations. My VBA-enabled smart forms are used by front-line operations personnel, and are robust enough to handle transactions from any end user. I also have many years of experience developing business procedures and workflows. I can map out a workflow and easily identify where efforts are being duplicated or wasted. My expertise in automation has helped large companies reduce their staffing costs while reducing manual error rates and increasing overall productivity. As a business person who "speaks tech", I make a fantastic liaison between end-users and developers, thereby reducing complications during the business application development process, and making sure that the product you need is what is actually delivered. I also know a thing or three about coding and web design. Self-taught mostly; I took the intro to Comp Sci courses in college, but I picked up most of my chops modding video games and automating repetitive tasks at work. I've also taken a few Codecademy courses to round out my knowledge base. I've never spent too long in any specific language, so I actually think I have a better understanding of how computer science works than a dedicated coder who stays in one language all day does. In essence, a lot more breadth than depth. Languages I know today and are comfortable taking on work for include C/C++/C#, Java, Python, HTML, CSS, and PHP.
I am Expert in Microsoft Excel with strong VBA skills and 9 years of experience. Key points in my work are data consolidation and processing, duplicates search and cleanup, CSV processing, mail merge macros, data formatting and filtering, formulas, userform and ribbon design. Special place in my work takes spreadsheets creation for Yahoo! Finance API, Morningstar, ADVFN, Google Finance data and interaction with Bloomberg, Capital IQ and other financial tools.
I have been writing systems in various forms of Basic since 1983 the first 3 years were full time after which I moved into IT Management both general and Project. In the last 8 years I have resumed my programming activities culminating in the design and build of a full ERP system incorporating the MS Office engines for Word, Excel, and Outlook with MS Access for databases and running on the Windows platform. This is fully scaleable from a laptop to a multi location, multi organisation network. Since working with Odesk I have been doing projects to provide applications in Access and Outlook and have Project Managed a Web 2.0 build for an English University and have been recognised as one of the top 25 software providers on Odesk for July based on feedback. Outside Odesk I work as a freelance programmer, analyst, project manager, or business consultant depending on needs. I have opened two businesses and run them for 10 years and assisted in launching several others including management buyout's. I am a lateral thinker with a great breadth of industry knowledge that can be brought to bear on any systems design and build. With extensive skills in Project Management and Business Process Reengineering I am able to work in many disciplines. Gaining an MBA in March 2010 I am skilled in organisational structure and change supported by IT systems change, having an academic paper published in International Journal of Business, Management, and Social Sciences titled 'Why Information Technology (IT) systems-led organisational Change does not work' see -www.gbmintl.com/research This portfolio of skills gives me considerable knowledge of business processes and roles in many and varied industry sectors that I can bring to bear through a highly empathic approach which means I can offer advice and suggestions where improvement or a better approach can be deployed. During the last 10 years most of the programming work I have been contracted for involves building Apps or Addins for MS Outlook and Exchange, MS Access and Excel conversions and upgrades and also moves to MySQL or SQL Server Despite all of these skills, in this case I am principally looking for Visual Basic Programming or Office Integration work, Windows API work and document management within any business structure or system. Please note: I do NOT do fixed price work in Odesk
✔ My experience is more than 10 years. Starting out as a Business Analyst over 10 years ago, enabled me to develop my Office skills tremendously. I grew fond of Ms Excel and for the last couple of years I have been developing small applications for my business relations. As challenges make me grow, I'm currently looking into doing new things - either with Excel but also with the other office application. I have also obtained my Master Microsoft Office Specialist certification (Master MOS) in 2011 to further prove my skill-set and abilities. Business objective is to give the best service in the least amount of time possible. Personal objective is to grow - and to learn as much as possible to be of better service to all.
