    Hi, I've studied Object Oriented Programming for 18 years and developed VBA apps in Excel for the last 12. I can’t emphasize enough how important objects and structured programming are when developing in Excel. VBA apps can quickly become large and extremely complicated, creating a tangled mess nearly impossible to manage and upgrade; even by the original designer. I believe the use of OOP’s and structured techniques is essential, even when designing small VBA apps. I specialize in event driven Add-Ins and user interface design with great attention to detail. I’m highly skilled in designing fast and efficient code; especially important in Excel 2007&10. My work is extremely structured using objects and logical naming conventions, making it easy to understand, debug and modify. With a large library of reusable Class Objects, I’m able to rapidly add high level features and functionality to new applications significantly reducing development time. Highly skilled in generating MS Word reports from Excel 2007 & 2010, Ribbon Tab designs using XML and VBA and converting earlier version toolbars into this new style. I have multiple project experience with Sterling Trader Pro’s, Excel (DDE) add-in for real-time stock data and portfolio management and Yahoo Finance –Yahoo Stock Quote API (CSV).     I have been writing systems in various forms of Basic since 1983 the first 3 years were full time after which I moved into IT Management both general and Project. In the last 8 years I have resumed my programming activities culminating in the design and build of a full ERP system incorporating the MS Office engines for Word, Excel, and Outlook with MS Access for databases and running on the Windows platform. This is fully scaleable from a laptop to a multi location, multi organisation network. Since working with Odesk I have been doing projects to provide applications in Access and Outlook and have Project Managed a Web 2.0 build for an English University and have been recognised as one of the top 25 software providers on Odesk for July based on feedback. Outside Odesk I work as a freelance programmer, analyst, project manager, or business consultant depending on needs. I have opened two businesses and run them for 10 years and assisted in launching several others including management buyout's. I am a lateral thinker with a great breadth of industry knowledge that can be brought to bear on any systems design and build.
