For the past nine years I have had the opportunity to teach 21st century skills to elementary level students and train faculty members how to use software and web-based tools. As an instructional technology specialist and certified educator with a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, I use various software and web-based tools on a daily basis, including Microsoft Office, Google Apps, screencasting tools such as Camtasia, Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard, Schoology and Moodle as well as other digital tools used for teaching and learning. I am also currently enrolled in a web design class to gain familiarity with HTML, CSS, Photoshop and other tools for web content management and development. I am seeking new opportunities for educational content creation and instructional design as well as projects to which I can apply these technical skills.
I'm a well published doctoral candidate in adult education and organizational leadership at an Ivy League institution. I teach in a business school, write quite often, give talks and speeches. My masters (at the same school) was in communication, computers, technology and education and undergrad in Media and Technology. I've run my own technology support business for a decade, designed online courses, built them and executed both for higher ed and corporations. Most recently I have been a Director of Online and Digital Learning at a large business school within a University and project manager for all online and digital learning efforts. I'm a very good course and content developer. I know what works online or what works best in person to achieve learning goals of adults. Well trained in Adult Education, curriculum design, and learning, so I understand the challenges as my clients learn what works. I am also a Cisco Certified Virtual Classroom Instructor Specialists for any synchronous (web conferencing) training needs or planning. Let me know how we can help you.
I've conquered the classroom and am now looking for new challenges. I want to continue working for kids, either through curriculum development, education programs or a non-profit. I enjoy using my technology skills to create, and my background in journalism is always fun to revisit as well. Most of all, I want to enjoy what I am doing.
I am highly experienced in all things digital and literary, with extensive experience in design, recording, and writing. If you are uncertain I can do a job correctly, just ask and I'll be completely honest in respect to my qualifications. I won't commit to a job I cannot complete. All my clients independent of this site are always satisfied with my work and any client here will be as well.
I am interested in creating effective, beautiful, and fun learning for all ages and all settings. I have wide experience in educational research and development and have worked with corporations, government agencies, donor organizations higher education, and education publishers in the design and evaluation of learning environments. I'm an experienced international development consultant, and a recognized trainer and team leader. I've published research using design-based research, qualitative methods and quasi-experimental studies.
