    Hello! I am Zen Hess, an Indiana native who is currently pursuing a masters degree at Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina. I began learning web design last fall (2013) through Treehouse (teamtreehouse.com, check it out!). I have since helped out family and friends, for profits and non-profits, manage and develop their websites and social media. My favorite work to do is that which has a larger impact than just the job itself. For example, I love working with Women's Resource Center of Hancock County, because I know it is doing something great for the people they serve. We are all roughing life together, so it is nice to help one who helps another. In terms of skills, here is a list. It is ordered starting with what I love to do most (and, consequently, what I am best at) and ends with that which I have little experience in (but, still love!): +Content Creation - Before I ever did web design, I wrote. Writing is my first love (why else would anyone pursue a masters degree in the humanities?). So, if you're looking for website content, blogs, paper editing, etc... I am your man! +Wordpress - Whether it is building a theme from scratch or working with another developer's theme, Wordpress is my favorite. Not only is it a great platform, but it is a great business. +HTML/CSS - These two are what I know best. They are barebones simple, but do just what you need to make a user experience awesome. +Photoshop/Illustrator - I use an old Macbook Pro with outdated Adobe products. But, I can still make some good stuff and thoroughly enjoy doing so. Maybe, if I score lots of jobs, I'll get a Cloud membership! +jQuery - This is the fun stuff! I always give credit (in the source code) when I use someone's jQuery. I haven't developed any jQuery of my own yet, but I am excited to do so in the future. +Javascript - I have done some basic work with Javascript. It's not a strong suite of mine, but I am learning and having fun doing it! I come from a hardworking, Midwestern family and intend to keep up the family reputation.
