    Having worked for oDesk for a little more than a year, I have worked on numerous projects with several clients and have received excellent reviews from each of them. I have an innate talent for noticing grammatical and punctuation errors in anything I read. I also have a voracious love for the written word, whether it be fiction, nonfiction, letters, manuals, or anything. I like to say that errors tend to "jump off the page at me." It tends to slow me down when I am reading for pleasure but it becomes a tremendous asset when I am proofreading any document or manuscript. I don't wish to change what I am reading. My only desire is to make it better, more readable, more understandable. An example of this is the book, "My Paranormal Diaries," written by Deborah Cihon. She is not a writer and depended heavily on my input in making her book easier to read while still retaining her own voice. She was very pleased with my work and has other projects in the works, which I will assist her in preparing for publication, as well. I greatly enjoyed all the proofreading work I have done and wish to continue to help people improve their own writings, such as letters, manuscripts, training or instruction manuals, etc. I am a dedicated, persistent, and professional individual, and I am determined to give my absolute best to any client who uses my services.  less

    I am a diligent and organized worker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. I have a positive attitude and will ensure that all tasks taken on are completed with care, attention and to a very high standard. I have had an interesting and varied career which has helped me to develop a wide range of skills that I hope to utilize with odesk. I am a qualified teacher specializing in history but I have experience teaching all of the subjects on the school curriculum with children aged 3 - 19. In my most recent position I worked with young people up to 19 who were underachieving to enable them to reach their full potential. This included those who were “”More Able and Talented” and were not able to work to the high standard they were capable of in a classroom mixed ability environment. Particular attention was paid to improving and excelling in English and Mathematics. My favourite part of this position was having the opportunity to be creative, particularly with writing, and to encourage young people to have the confidence to do the same. I won the 2012 Youth Excellence award in this post for "Advocate for Young People." I have 9 years experience working in education, with children and young people. I have learnt the importance of maintaining a good level of English and Mathematics. I have also gained broad subject knowledge across the sciences and humanities. Education workers have a high volume of paperwork to complete which they are accountable for to the school inspectors. Therefore there is an emphasis on accuracy and quality. My last post was European funded. A big part of this role was the report writing and data entry to justify and ensure funding continued. I have also had 3 years office experience. My roles enabled me to learn customer services, dispatch, managing accounts and data entry. I left my last post to have my second baby who is now 6 months old. I love being accessible to both my children but I have joined Odesk for two reasons. I would like the opportunity to make money in a way that fits around my family but also to reignite my brain and to find work that I can engage with and enjoy.
