I am an admitted Australian Lawyer* with Bachelor Degrees in Law and Arts (Political Science and History), a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and undertaking post-graduate research qualifications in Political Science. I have broad academic and work experience in criminal, civil, planning and environment, bankruptcy, human rights, industrial, immigration, administrative, native title and international trade law. I have also worked as an aide to the Attorney-General of Australia and am currently writing a dissertation/thesis in political science. My particular interests include American, Australian, Canadian and British law, history and politics. I am currently working on a series of articles comparing Australian and Canadian native title laws, which are to be published in a Canadian law journal. My extra-curricular interests are wide and varied. They include sport, history, literature and music (popular, classical, folk and independent). I am therefore happy to write about virtually any topic and can soon get a grasp of any field that I'm not conversant in. I am on oDesk in order to gain working capital for further study and to establish my own business as a barrister and advocate. I aim to please and gain a sense of satisfaction from delivering good work on time. *NB: I do not currently hold a practising certificate in Queensland nor do I hold professional indemnity insurance. I am therefore unable to engage in work that might be considered to be "legal practice" in any Australian jurisdiction.

Having recently completed my Masters degree, I have been keen on looking for different opportunities. I would love to work with an organization that I can grow with, learn from and in turn, contribute to. As an experienced program manager for corporate responsibility and community development, I also enjoy research and feel that my real calling is in writing - I was potentially a writer in a past life. :) With a gift for the gab and a love of talking in general, I have also been a trainer and am reasonably adept at developing training programs and helping with public speaking and presentations. So if there are any like minded folks out there who would like to work with a cheerful and energetic individual (i.e. moi), we could have a chat and explore the possibilities.
