As a French native state-employed English Teacher for quite a number of years, I can provide accurate translations from English into standard French from FRANCE, and the other way round. I worked for "Gengo.com" for a year only, but unlike them, so far, I can translate into genuine UK English all types of documents at the rate of $0.06/word, that can be as low as $0.04 for high volumes starting from 3,000 words ( and $0.08/word for technical and legal translation jobs), and my test- results speak for themselves. Given my background, I can deliver truly academic, as well as audience-oriented translations. However, I now refuse to translate content for e-commerce sites selling illegal products in FRANCE, as the shoppers would have problems with the French customs, or even worse, with the police. I also refuse to proofread what appears to be plain machine-translation or clearly post-edited machine translation jobs, from either other contractors (you should just ask for a refund!) or customers. Fair enough, isn't it? Now, please have a look at my portfolio, and you will see what I mean! Finally, I now have experience in simultaneous 3-way translation over the phone (see my profile).
