WRITING IS MY PASSION! But so is serving others. Therefore, I have found that I can follow my dreams while helping others to follow theirs. A true freelancer does not simply write for the money. He writes because he loves to do so. He writes because it is his passion. And this is precisely why I only offer my services on very specific projects I know I can write passionately about. Please allow me to come alongside you and help bring your project to life.
Having worked for 13 years in the nonprofit arena, I have acquired skills in a variety of administrative areas. My greatest strengths are in customer service, working with standard productivity software (Microsoft Office, etc.), and internet research. I also have basic knowledge of website creation and management (WordPress, Wix), Search Engine Optimization, social media marketing, and content creation. I have a couple of websites that I have created and now manage personally that you can find listed in my portfolio.
Over the last 12 years, I have developed a varied skill set, which is applicable to a wide variety of competencies that I have had the pleasure of performing in both formal and informal settings. From leadership in small business to creative entrepreneurial endeavors to start-up consultation and more, I often find myself exploring new horizons, which keeps my brain active and engaged. My core competency is in creative writing, speaking and singing. I also have experience in the following areas: brainstorming, designing, testing, implementation and troubleshooting. I could also bore you with a long list of other skills that might seemingly have nothing to do with each other; however, I feel it would be more effective to say that these skills have contributed to my ability to flex into whatever prospect I am currently exploring. I strive to serve others instead of serving myself. Joshua Pattillo – Your happiness is my success!™
I have been in higher education as a student for over a decade. In that time, I have accrued degrees in natural science, philosophy, and theology. The majority of my theological education focuses upon historical theology, but with a strong emphasis on biblical studies (mostly New Testament) and the interaction of scientific methodology with a Christian worldview.
I'm an Aerospace Engineer by day, where the majority of my time is spent writing technical manuals and repair instructions for aircraft systems. I've been married to my wife Karen for two years, we're expecting our first child next January. I have been a serious follower of Jesus for nearly ten years, and have been involved in a variety of ministries since that time. I'm currently a Starting Point and Community Group leader at Buckhead Church in Atlanta, and am also a C.S. Lewis Institute Fellow. I am especially passionate about discovering and teaching practical ways to apply Biblical truths to our lives, remembering Solomon's advice that "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."
I've always been a Writer at heart even as a child, but I didn't truly tap into my gift until I was around 20 years old. I'm 29 years old now and I've been working as a Christian Freelance Writer for the past three years. I currently still write for the women's Christian magazine "Ruby For Women" ( http://rubyforwomen.com/ruby-blogger-team ) and I'm the Creator and Writer of the Christian blog "A SPIRIT-Kissed Soul" ( http://www.aspiritkissedsoul.wordpress.com ). I started "AS-KS" because I wanted to create a place where people could come, read GOD'S WORD, be encouraged, and leave renewed and ready to conquer whatever that day may bring. It's sole purpose is to whisper love and encouragement into delicate and fragile hearts. I joined oDesk because I'd like to expand my horizons as a Writer and this seemed like the perfect place to do it.
