Designer by trainning and with a master’s diploma in product design, i have spent almost three years as design & material consultant at INNOVATHEQUE (French innovation and design support team attached to the FCBA furniture service). Years during which I was also able to exercise my skills in graphic design. My main custommers were professionals in the furniture industry, interior designers, architects, and i had the opportunity to assist them in the development of innovative projects, particularly on materials and manufacturing processes aspects. I’ve always had a particular liking for the materials and my professionnal experience at Innovatheque allowed me to develop my technical skills, and to perfectly control the monitoring tools. I have been fortunate over the last three years to work in a multidisciplinary team of designers, ergonomists, engineers and also to be in contact with many manufacturers. In the same time of my role as a consultant, i launched in 2013 a brand of linen for children : Dis moi dis moi. Interested in a collaboration? Do not hesitate to contact me!
I am a multidisciplinary designer recently back to Italy after a six months experience in Uganda, where I worked in a local interior design studio (2013). This experience not only allowed me to improve my English skills, but it also was a challenging opportunity to adapt my work to a reality characterized by scarce materials and underqualified workforce. After obtaining in 2007 a Bachelor of Industrial Design at the ISIA Roma Design, (laurea in Disegno Industriale), with a thesis about medical design, I worked as stage and costume designer for the Petrolini theatre of Rome and for a small video production. Even though I enjoyed my work experience, I preferred to continue my formation at the Polytechnic University of Turin, where the second year lessons are held in English and many international students join the course, making it more multicultural and interesting. At the Polytechnic I graduated in Eco-design (laurea magistrale in Design del Prodotto Ecocompatibile) in 2012 with a thesis about lighting urban requalification through the user-centered design approach (UCDA). The UCDA differs from other product design philosophies, since it tries to develop the product around the users’ needs, desires and possibilities, rather than forcing them to change behavior in order to accommodate the product/service. Following such participatory approach, I developed the lighting project involving many stakeholders (employees, partners, customers, citizens and final users) using questionnaires, interviews and perceptive maps. Another useful design method I could learn at the Polytechnic is the Systemic Approach, which swaps from the linear production system to a cyclical one, where the outputs of a certain process become the inputs of another one. This approach drives the designer to think out of the box, developing an interconnected system that resembles a natural mechanism. Thanks to this new paradigm I started to design products and services keeping in mind their whole life cycle and their environmental impacts on the medium and long terms. Social skills and competences: I maturated an excellent ability in exposition and presentations of complex projects, moreover I aquired the ability to relate with different professional figures (engineers, architects, artisans). Organisational skills and competences: In the design fields, brainstorming is the place where ideas born, open mind to means amplify the creative potential of everyone. Working in a team on a single project requires tolerance and organizational capacity to be able to effectively coordinate each one work and views to reach a common goal, not an easy task that allowed me to develop decisional capacity avoid personalism. Technical skills and competences: Excellent skills in design field (product design, graphic design, visual design) professional knowledge of Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign,) Good knowledge of CAD drawing softwares for technical 2D drawings (Autodesk Autocad). Adequate knowledge of 3D modeling softwares and rendering (Rhinoceros) Basic knowledge of main prototyping instruments. Good knowledge of photography instruments. Good Knowledge of Dialux for lighting calculations. Artistic skills and competences:Excellent skills in hand drawing, photography. Particular proneness for painting and sculpting/ ceramics. Interests: Art, exhibitions, travel, technology, food design, nature, ecology, sustainability.
From a young age my life has revolved around the art of creating and the exploration of new venues. Everything that I do, I do for the sake of art and my love for it. When I'm not in my studio I'm finding new places to visit or listening to my vinyl records. I'd rather be outside, even in the rain. I like to run and meditate, I feel as though both help to facilitate my creative passions. I'm always looking to improve upon my skills, searching for new ideas and finding ways to expand my knowledge by challenging myself whether it be learning a new program or designing outside my comfort zone. I love hands-on work as well as creating designs graphically as I'm well versed on PC and MAC platforms using Adobe Creative Suite, Corel Draw and Microsoft Office software programs. My expertise lies in industrial design, publication design involving promotional advertising & direct mail, package design and mock-ups, production design, illustration, photo manipulation and digital collages, bookmaking/fiber arts, logo and branding design. In addition, I've worked with Creative Directors, Production Managers, Promotions, Sales, Marketing and Public Relations departments to take a design from an idea and conceptualize it into a finished product. I've been designing professionally for seven years and I'm looking to continue to use my experience and understanding of current trends as well as utilize my creative skills to design a vast amount of material, both web and print. My technical skills, willingness to learn, ability to multi-task and personable nature are qualities I believe make me a qualified candidate to join any creative environment. I take direction well, am very detail-oriented and always willing to learn as much as possible about the subject matter I am working with and make a full commitment to it.
