I've been developing for the web since 2001. At the Columbus College of Art and Design, I was trained in advertising, graphic design, digital illustration, photography, copywriting, project management, creative direction, brand strategy—all of which took my web work to a whole new level. I started as a designer with People To My Site in the Summer of '06 and for over five years worked on print design, web application design/development, and brand strategies. My work for Highlights for Children, Inc. and Zaner-Bloser have given me more intimate experience with in-house online brand strategy and user interface design. The most valuable thing I've learned through the years is to pay attention to the bottom line. When users encounter a jumble of frustration that comes between them and the product they're trying to buy, it affects the bottom line. When you can effortlessly sell someone on a digital product because the buyer perfectly understands what she sees, what she's interacting with, and how it will improve her life, that clean design just boosted the bottom line. When stakeholders trust UI experts to make executive decisions on the creative direction of apps, avoiding needless hours spent in meetings, it affects the development department's bottom line. I have loved watching UI conventions evolve with the community's experience with digital devices, and watching business problems evolve with society's changing needs and expectations. In 2014, I'm glad to have a reliable set of conventions to compliment my expertise and passion for streamlining and enriching users' experience on the web.

For 15+ years I have been developing software from all angles - back-end through front-end. I have worked with numerous languages, frameworks and tools but find myself happiest when working with the .NET Framework/C# - I have worked with the .NET Framework since it was first released. Over the past decade-and-a-half, I have proven myself a valuable asset to any team/project on which I have been placed. I have very strong development skills including .NET (C#), database design, UI/UX, front-end (HTML5, CSS3, JS), back-end (SQL Server, MySQL), web services/APIs, etc. I always end up being the go-to guy for other team members when they have questions and I'm happy to mentor more junior developers I've worked on projects of all sizes ranging from small internal systems to large public-facing systems. I am constantly keeping up with the latest trends in software development and in my free time I usually have one or two personal projects going on. I tend to prefer working with C# but have also worked with Java/J2EE, Ruby on Rails, PHP, etc. I am open to other languages, technologies and frameworks - whichever is best for the job. I have strong front-end web development experience including working with 3rd party frameworks such as jQuery, jQuery UI, Knockout, Bootstrap and others. I have designed and built web applications from scratch and have also worked with designers to implement functionality based on pre-determined designs. I'm a hard working software engineer who prides himself on the quality and completeness of his work. I work efficiently while adhering to best practices and remaining mindful of performance, potential bottlenecks, memory usage, etc. I would be a great addition to any project as a single developer or as a new developer on an existing team.
Not your ordinary oDesk designer. With professional experience in the Netherlands, Brazil, and the US, I have led creative teams on digital marketing, advertising and design projects for multinational accounts such as General Motors, VISA, McDonald's, T-Mobile, Lucas Film, AT&T, nVidia, and 20th Century Fox. My work has garnered worldwide recognition with many awards and accolades, including the prestigious Cannes Lions Cyber Grand Prix, and has been featured in Creativity Magazine as part of the best online advertising of the last 20 years. The Lost Ring, a recent project for McDonald’s, inspired Wired to coin the term “dark marketing”, had BrandWeek make it their Number One Bright Idea of the Year, and convinced New York MoMA to add it to their permanent collection. If you want something extraordinary, let's talk.
Professional Product Manager with 16 years’ experience in the software industry. I'm a professional Software and SaaS Product Manager who has a passion for technology, team dynamics, and delivering high quality, on time projects that delight. Although, there are many different types of development methodologies I have found that using Scrum Agile provides the best way to define project scope, reduce risk, and deliver against project goals and timelines. I've spent the last five years participating in Scrum as a Product Owner and Scrum Master and have implemented and trained teams to use the method successfully. Much of my software and SaaS experience has been with a large multi-national company focusing on CRM, working across a broad range of technologies and solutions inlcuding: Windows, Web, Mobile, Social Media Integration, and now have decided to give freelancing a try.
