Hello, I am 23 years old. I got my bachelor degree last year in International Relations and now I am getting my master's one. I lived in the US for 6 years, that is why my English level is perfect. Russian is my native language, so it's perfect as well. I also have a high level of French, because I studied in Paris for a year, but I am not fluent enough to translate to French yet. I plan to learn Spanish in the next year and then start with Arabic. Learning languages is something that I love doing. I am a very goal oriented person, ambitious and responsible too. While I am still in school, a freelance job would be perfect for me, because I would be able to work anywhere and whenever I have free time. I would be able to translate completely different texts, from blogs to medical or technical articles. Not only because of my language skills, but because I have many interests in many fields. I have worked as a simultaneous translator at several important events here in my city- Yekaterinburg. I have also translated numerous texts for my university assignments. And it is something I am good at. In the future, I plan to have a career in diplomacy, my dream job would be to work for the UN.
Over the last fifteen years, I have worked in a variety of fields while earning my PhD in psychology. While earning my degree I worked as a mental health counselor and then moved to the Industrial/Organizational psychology field where I worked for a major defense corporation in the Washington, DC metro area. My passion, however, lies within academia and research. As such, I transitioned to a position where I now teach full-time as an online professor of psychology. I maintain several blogs related to mind-body health, environmental concerns, and creative frugality. My areas of expertise include online facilitation, mental health, psychology (I/O and statistical/research), nature conservation, rural living, Kentuckiana, and creative writing. A list of publications is available upon request. Regards, Kim
I come from the worlds of advertising, event, music, PR, marketing, film finance, film sales, project creation and management. I am good at running projects, writing business plans, developing brands and images, and communicating those out into the world. I am also a yoga teacher and love to surf and write. Hence I decided to focus on freelance projects that allow me to live on the coast of Portugal for most of the year. If you need a creative copywriter with strong skills in PR and marketing, if you need to cover yoga or surf related topics, if you need to write a proposal for a film grant, if you need editing for your marketing content, or rock solid translations that don't lose the intended feel when translated from a native German speaker who has lived in the US for 6 years,... I might be the right candidate for you.
My background is in Behavioral Science and Industrial Design. I have the skill set of both a Research Scientist- statistics, writing, critical thinking, survey design, and statistics- and a Designer- Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Solid Works, Key Shot, rapid visualization, sketching, prototyping, and creative problem solving. My years of experience as Scientist help me interpret research findings and turn them into real, valuable Design innovations. I have over 8 years of experience in Behavioral Science; 4 years studying childhood language acquisition and how we come to understand the world around us at the University of Houston, and 4 years studying Addiction psycho-physiology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. From this I have learned how to make insightful research findings from data, manage personnel, design surveys and experiments, write academic articles, recruit participants, and navigate through administrative systems. I am currently an Industrial Design Master's student at the University of Houston. In this program, and through my independent study, I have experienced turning design research into meaningful design insights. I am a capable graphic and 3D designer, with a working knowledge of the entire Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, and Keyshot.
I successively graduated from Florida State University in 2012 with a Bachelors degree in English with a concentration in editing, writing, and media and a minor in communications. Eager to expand my perspective I set off abroad to Spain to work as an english teacher and submerge myself head to toe in a new culture. Spain filled my blank canvas with vibrant colors and my heart with passion for people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. A year and a half later an inner voice lead me to Thailand to seek deeper, to look inside myself for the array of colors I found in Spain's city streets. A lover of yoga and meditation, I began a devoted daily practice inside Thailand's borders, picked up some jewelry making skills from the locals, slept in a teepee in the jungle, lived in a monastery off of only what I was given, and bonded with some of the most selfless people I have ever known. Coming full circle, to find that a basic painters pallet had been there all along; only that it was masked by the act of seeking for green when I could have mixed yellow and blue. To see the beauty of the world with two eyes means nothing without sharing your experience and giving back to others with your heart. So when one asks me to describe strengths and skills, highlight projects, accomplishments, and education, I find it difficult to overwrite my experience in these last two years. When I write, I write from my soul with compassion, which I believe reaches and connects to those who it is meant to. I am easygoing and outgoing with a keen awareness of my surroundings and audience. I take every moment as it comes, and fill everything I do with love and devotion without expectation; you could call that my lifetime project.
