Award-winning screenwriter, studio story consultant, film journalist, grant writer. My credits include independent features, documentary treatments, dramatic educational TV series, internet series, home entertainment, and commercial scripts. Awards include an Emmy, Codie, New York Film Festival Gold, Action for Children's Television Award, and Cine Golden Eagles. I recently completed a historical dramatic feature that is in development, and am writing a full-scale theatrical work. As a story consultant for fiction and film, I have read scripts for studios, contests, grants, a short story magazine, and many individual writers. I have written regular columns on film for sf360.org and Film Arts Magazine, on Los Angeles attractions for French Vogue, and on chronically ill children for Tributes. As a grant writer, I have raised $10,000-$400,000 in grants for education, the arts, and health care.
I live in Barcelona, Spain, where I work as a part-time copywriter for a local tour company. I wrote more than 80 pages of copy for the site's recent redesign and relaunch. I also oversee the company's social media campaign, which includes Twitter, Facebook and Google+. In addition to Barcelona Experience, this past year I've run social media campaigns and blogs for two different American companies. I'm also a news reporter for Snooth.com, a job in which I write 20 400-word articles in a 12.5-hour work week. From 2010 to 2012, I was a reporter at The Villages Daily Sun newspaper, the fastest-growing newspaper in America. I was a three-time finalist in the Florida Press Club's Excellence in Journalism contest. This past November, I won first place in Class B light features and second place in Class B health writing. Previous to the Daily Sun, I spent two years as a staff writer for the marketing department at Southeastern University. I oversaw the school's student intranet, I wrote ad and web copy, and served as the lead writer on several projects. I worked with Adobe Dreamweaver and an in-house CMS.
I help companies communicate effectively. I have many years of advertising agency and in-house experience working for brands such as Jack Daniel’s, Vodafone, Finlandia Vodka, Hill’s pet food and many more. Whether it’s for a small tech start-up or global telco giant, I’ve been creating awesome marketing content and filling column inches since I first sat down on an office chair. From perfect press releases to social media strategies, brand stories, billboards, internal comms and blogs, I'll craft your message and help you deliver it to the right audience.
I am a native Norwegian speaking linguist with 2 years experience in translating, proofreading and editing texts in English and Norwegian. I have lived and worked for 7 years in the Republic of Ireland, which has assured me a high level of written and spoken English. I am passionate about language and culture and I am committed to delivering a high level of quality and accuracy.
I'm a professional multi-media journalist who can write, edit, research, produce, and design high-quality content on almost any topic and for any medium. From creating blog and social media posts to complete marketing communications plans, I have worked with clients including university programs, acupuncturists, chefs, commercial painters, e-commerce sites, news sites and forums, and more. I do not compromise my high ethical standards. Sorry, but I do not accept jobs that involve "ghostwriting" without credit, "spinning" and stealing others' copyrighted work, or other shady practices. What you get with me is a passionate, hard-working, detail-oriented, mass communications expert. What you do not get is someone who will rush the job or be a mindless "yes man" -- if I accept a job then I am committing to give you my best work effort, and that includes sometimes offering suggestions or advice -- getting you the final product you NEED, not just the one you think you want. I generally do not do Skype interviews or meetings for any projects paying less than $1,000. I am happy to answer any questions through ODesk or email, and I am happy to do a trial period for any ongoing positions. Sorry, but the reason I choose to do online freelancing is to make my own schedule and work in my pajamas; if you can't deal with that then best of luck finding someone who is a better fit for you.
I've been writing for over five years, both as a personal means of expression, as well as contracted freelance work. Over that time, I have completed numerous short stories, penned articles for social media and satire blogs and websites, and have written and edited chapters for various authors. Within fiction, which is my main area of focus, I write intense, emotional scenes to great effect, as well as dark humour. I write literary fiction and sci-fi, for the most part, but I also have experience in romance and erotica. Other creative work has included satire, emotional wellness blogging, social media how-to columns, and well-researched, informative articles on a vast range of topics. I am fortunate to have the opportunity this year to study an honours degree in Creative Writing through Wits University, during which I hope to perfect my writing style, as well as gain experience from interaction with and feedback from experts in the South African writing community. In addition to my own creative work, I am skilled at recognising and differentiating good writing from bad. I will utilise these skills to edit, critique and provide expert recommendations to ensure your work meets the high standards required for unqualified success. Within the corporate field, I write engaging copy for businesses and entrepreneurs, which provides information and guidelines, while maintaining the reader's interest and keeping them entertained when appropriate. Over the course of an honors degree in Psychology - including experience with group therapy and trauma counselling - I have gained great insight and perspective into human nature. This is a major strength in my writing. I write realistic characters and bring clarity and insight into stories, whether fiction or non-fiction. Overall, I'll produce work which is of a very high quality, in terms of writing style and content. Thanks for reading!

I am a multi-talented creative thinker with an academic twist. I have always loved art and writing but I studied Psychology and Economics at University instead. I started my career tutoring young adults as well as children with special needs and only recently returned to my love of art by taking courses in Graphic Design.
