I was recently accepted to the University of Southern California as a computer science major. I've developed my programming skills my entire life, and I'm confident in my ability as a software developer. I specialize in Mac OSX desktop programming in C++/Cocoa, but I have experience programming for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Besides C and C++, I'm comfortable programming in Python, Ruby, Java, and Bash. Apart from programming, jobs I'm willing to take include Website Design and Development (either through a service such as Wordpress or in pure HTML) and system administration work. My past work experience includes a year-long internship at the Phoenix-based engineering company Dignified Motors, and multiple years of work as a general "Technology Consultant" for Values Quest Inc.
I am a Free Software developer. Among other thing, I am a GIMP core developer, and would do the occasional patch in various software. See my ohloh page for instance to see a non-exhaustive listing of my contributions: https://www.ohloh.net/accounts/Jehan/positions I also participate to standardization process. In particular I have actively participated to the XMPP standardization for years, in particular on RFC 6120 and 6121.

Formerly a Security IT consultant specializing with Splunk, I possess a wide variety of skills and have worn a number of hats. Previously, the best summarization of my skillset is a hybrid between software engineer and sysadmin in what is now considered a devops engineer. My focus then was mainly automation/scripting and monitoring in an infrastructure engineering role. With this speciality, I'm particularly looking for remote, part-time work at this time, focusing on Splunk. Other side interests include mobile/web app development with native iOS. I'm very adept with the full Splunk stack in terms of architectural design to building custom parsers to dashboards. In particular, I probably enjoy the parsing for search fields the most? Report generation and scheduling alerts is no big deal to me so long as the customer has clearly defined requirements for high value reports within confines of Splunk. I have been offered and worked contract jobs for Splunk positions as well as know the going rate for professional services for Splunk, so I know my going rate is more than fair. What you get from me: * Excellent communication skills. I've worked with Agile before, so I have a better understanding of building quantifiable user stories as well as prioritizing value and time in communicating this. * Deep understanding of Splunk. Probably the most obvious out of this profile you can read. * Solid project management skills. I personally ran a 1-man project for an organization, so I'm familiar with bringing up an entire environment with limited resources for you. * Entrepreneurial thirst to learn. I enjoy learning new technologies and languages. Very avid in the startup community. Strongly interested in data science and engineering, I'm looking to enhance my skills using tools, languages, and tech like Python, Spark, Kafka. If you'd like to know more, feel free to contact me! Rate is negotiable, feel free to discuss as part of project ramifications.
