Improving your page speed can help retain visitors, increase sales and make the visit to your site more enjoyable. It demonstrates that you understand how the web works, care about how long it takes for a page to load for your visitor, and helps you uncover and remove bottlenecks in your code. Scaling and optimizing your images, compressing html and css and including instructions in how a browser handles your pages can provide substantial returns for a modest investment.
Also available for consultation on setting up a multi-monitor environment. Dedicating monitors for repetitive tasks, such as calendar, email or weather, as well as work specific tasks such as research, graphic design or coding can reduce fatigue and increase response time when necessary. This process can be complex and depends on need, budget and skill level. Contact to talk over your specific situation.
The installation script developed has been modified to allow for fine grained control. Every aspect of it can be individually turned on or off. In addition, a coarser grained control is available so that any of the setting groupings (general, writing, reading, discussion, media and permalinks) can be turned on or off as a group.
For all contracts over $100, a project management account may be required, making use of Feng Office, Community Edition. This project management suite offers a full set of features including Workspaces, Tasks, Parent Tasks and more. Start and end dates can be set, as well as time and budget estimates on a per task basis, as needed. Comments can be made on tasks and there is room for notes and documents to be uploaded. Making use of a project management suite may require slightly more effort on the front end, but can pay off by ensuring communication occurs in one place and can assist in remote collaboration and time shifting.
WordPress/Genesis Tutoring/Sharing Sessions: $180/hr.
One on one sessions. Mastering online communication means understanding both how people think and how a website works. With a deep rooted knowledge in both WordPress and hands on real world experience, listening, sharing and tutoring sessions can help you gain the skills, confidence and knowledge that you need to succeed, in both the online and real world.
Everyone has different experiences, skill sets and knowledge. Connecting the dots and filling in the gaps can sometimes work best when you communicate in real time with another person. Learn what you need to set up your own IDE (integrated development environment), ftp (or better, sftp) and more. With these tools in hand, learn how to search through the source code, how WordPress is set up and how to make the most of a website, without the cost of expensive, load increasing plugins. Learn how to build code you can reuse, and set up switches to allow fine grained, granular control without adjusting the code itself. With this knowledge in hand, compete against the best and make your website fly (i.e. lightweight, resuable and fast loading). Tutoring/sharing sessions available via join.me/cbos-tech. Cost can be shared amongst three or four individuals.
I look forward to serving you and helping to meet your technical needs.
