I believe in excellence. Writing isn't about just putting words on paper, it's about expressing ideas. Like any art, the writer has only been successful if the reader sees what he sees, hears what he hears, and feels what he feels. I am an experienced writer with over 180 books published; in addition to my 500+ page web site and 3 blogs. Let's just say, I've been writing for a while. I started writing as an engineer, writing proposals for the company I worked for. As such, my writing had to be clear, concise and answer the questions before they were asked. My writing had to convince the higher-ups in the company to spend money, make changes and believe in what I was saying. When I write, I strive for clarity, simplicity and something that will stir the reader to action. Any subject, no matter how dull it seems, has something in it that can excite; otherwise it would die from apathy. I want to find that thing which excites and express it to others. I have Five general areas in which I consider myself a strong writer. While each of them seem totally separate from each other, they form the structure of who I am, and where I've come from. 2 - Survival and Prepping - I started out as a survivalist as a teen, in the 1970s. That was the latter days of the Cold War and along with some friends, I had plans to head for the Colorado Rockies. Seeing the need, I started studying survival. I guess that just never left me. With the resurgence of interest in survival brought about in the modern prepping movement, I decided that my knowledge was needed. There is too much being written by people who don't know survival, to sell to this niche. When I write about it, it's from the viewpoint of personal experience. When I explain how to do something, it's because I've already done it. 1 - Technical subjects - I'm not talking about product reviews here, I'm talking about engineering technical subjects. As a former engineer, I can grasp technical issues, and explain them in a way that others can grasp what I am saying. Although not normally considered "technical" I must include the building trades amongst this, as I have also been a contractor. If you need "how-to" articles written on the building trades, I can almost do it in my sleep. I find that very few technical people can write well, and very few writers understand technical issues well. I guess that makes me the oddball. Maybe I'm the oddball you need. 2 - Education - I am passionate about the need to educate our children; to bring about reform in our schools; and to bring technology into the classroom. If something isn't done about our educational system, the United States will no longer be able to be world leader, we'll slide back into being a third world country. 3 - Marriage and Family - Amongst my personal writing, there is a fairly large section dealing with marriage, family issues, child raising, and maintaining a healthy marriage relationship. Of my three blogs, one is a daily posting; it is called: "Romantic Act of the Day." Need I say any more? 4 - Christianity and the Bible - Most of the books I have written are for Christians, the Church and teaching about the Bible. I hold a masters degree in Biblical Studies, and an honorary doctorate degree, awarded to me for my writing. No, I don't know it all, I'm just trying to learn it all. I won't say that I can't write about other areas, because I can. I have written a fair amount about business as well. But these four areas are my strengths. The question is, are those the strengths you need?

Recognized top 5% oDesk contractors. I have the skills and experience necessary to complete any of the following jobs: complex research, writing, editing, basic websites, business consulting (online marketing strategies for small businesses) or other similar projects. One of my specialties is helping people develop well-written informational content that brings organic and natural traffic to their sites. I provide writing, editing and formatting services for online website content. [Note - if you are trying to view my actual website from my profile, I am in the process of changing hosting providers so my site is temporarily unavailable. As a result, some of the links in my odesk profile many not be working. Just ask if you need to see more work samples and I will get them to you.] I am fortunate to have a gift with writing and truly enjoy it. Over my lifetime I have met many people with brilliant ideas and thoughts who struggle with getting them into writing in a way that effectively conveys the message. I have a passion for helping people take their ideas and putting words on paper so that the ideas can be shared with others. There is a great sense of satisfaction that I get when a client tells me “that’s exactly what I wanted to say!” Although I have not been formally hired as a writer until recently, I have an extensive writing history. I am conscientious and thorough in all that I do, often going above and beyond employer expectations. I have an inner passion for knowledge and answers. If I don't know something, want new information or want to learn how to do something, I do whatever is necessary to find the answers. My preferred jobs are advanced Research and Writing projects that require someone with great attention to detail and an analytical approach to finding information, not just "collecting data." {Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the data collection process, but typically simple research jobs don't pay equivalent to my experience & expertise.} Outside of freelance work as a writer, I provide business consulting, web design and online marketing services for small businesses, "from one small business owner, to another." As an entrepreneur who has been through the struggles of learning how to succeed when resources were limited, I understand what it is like to build a small business from the ground up. My formal training is in Psychology and this background gives me a unique perspective on the world of marketing and behavior. I have been a work-at-home mother since 2002 and absolutely love the freedom that being self employed provides. Let me be upfront - if you are looking for someone to work at "outsourcer rates" or to provide any work that is unethical or "black hat," then I am not that person. But if you are looking for a person who will provide HIGH QUALITY and ORIGINAL work, completed by someone with both an attention to detail and a creative mind, then that's me. I stand by all my work and won't work on anything that I wouldn't be proud to put my name on. As a business consultant, it is my job to Research and Find Solutions for my clients, as well as find information relevant for their business/industry. As a web/internet consultant, with knowledge of how content and keywords affect search engine results, I have a full understanding that there is "much more to be found" beyond the first Google results pages. On the educational level, I have a Master's Degree "plus" in Counseling Psychology from a school that was extremely research oriented, preparing students for Doctoral Programs. Not only did the regular coursework require routine research and report writing, but the program included completion of a Master's Thesis. I also have an undergraduate minor in statistics. Prior to becoming a freelancer, I have over twenty years of experience working with children in social and school settings. My specialty was working with children with emotional and learning disabilities. As the Director of a Youth Shelter, I also have experience supervising and managing teams. In 2002, after 20 years in the corporate world, working full time "plus," I made the decisision to change focus. With these New Priorities I started down the path of being a "work from home mother" (WAHM) and home business owner. "Enjoy Life Enterprises" is the umbrella for all of my entrepreneurial and freelance endeavors. Because I am completely self-employed, I have flexibility in the hours that I can provide, based upon what is required. I am located in the United States (North Carolina) and can be reached by email or if you are US based, we can talk by phone. I have also set up a Skype account if you are outside of the US.

I was an advisor to the BBC in London for two years. I am now a freelance writer and editor for discerning (and usually delighted) clients, itching to unleash affecting prose, or massage others' to fluidity. My natural writing style is engaging (and educational if needs be), entertaining and memorably unusual. I employ my vivacious imagination, broad awareness of evocative vocabulary, and thoroughly objectionable sense of humour. In the case of non-fiction, I incorporate research credibly into the flow of the text. I've written published books (e-books and hard copy), magazine articles, music reviews, copy, medical articles and website content. I consider myself a highly capable and perceptive editor. I have years of experience meticulously tightening and colouring novels, hundreds of articles and essays, non-fiction books, two film scripts, an e-book by an established UK psychologist, a book by an award-winning photographer and an e-book serving as guidance for professional writers. I am diligent to the point of beneficial neurosis: I notice mistakes (or thoughtlessness) in typography, flow, punctuation, structure or word choice in published works. I'm also a registered paediatric and emergency nurse, with a particular interest in holistic therapies. After graduating with Kingston University's highest mark, I went on to be a health lecturer, disaster relief worker, and advisor to various UK and Sri Lankan health charities. I helped create pilot schemes for the National Health Service. Now as a professional writer and explorer, I have no 'normal job' to interfere with my writing commissions. Writing specialisms: Humour Travel Health Music Food Film Fairytales / fantasy Children's Please see portfolio for examples of work. I currently reside in a dilapidated South-East Asian beach hut with a large spider and an internet connection. I enjoy eating, motorcycling and thaumatology.

I live in Barcelona, Spain, where I work as a part-time copywriter for a local tour company. I wrote more than 80 pages of copy for the site's recent redesign and relaunch. I also oversee the company's social media campaign, which includes Twitter, Facebook and Google+. In addition to Barcelona Experience, this past year I've run social media campaigns and blogs for two different American companies. I'm also a news reporter for Snooth.com, a job in which I write 20 400-word articles in a 12.5-hour work week. From 2010 to 2012, I was a reporter at The Villages Daily Sun newspaper, the fastest-growing newspaper in America. I was a three-time finalist in the Florida Press Club's Excellence in Journalism contest. This past November, I won first place in Class B light features and second place in Class B health writing. Previous to the Daily Sun, I spent two years as a staff writer for the marketing department at Southeastern University. I oversaw the school's student intranet, I wrote ad and web copy, and served as the lead writer on several projects. I worked with Adobe Dreamweaver and an in-house CMS.

I enjoy motivating people and have a varied business background. As a result, I have a deep well of resources to draw from when working on particular projects. I have authored two books and love the the creative side of that process. I plan on becoming an accomplished author and speaker; traveling the country, inspiring people to reach their dreams. The potential is there for all of us to become something spectacular. With that stated, I would love to help you with your project needs. I possess a strong command of the English language. I will not be satisfied unless you are. I took my last business venture to 22 million dollars living by that very simple principle. Customer service is an art as much as it is a science. I look forward to serving you.
