Personal website with more detail: http://www.brianfrydenborg.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brianfrydenborg I have almost 15 years of experience writing about, researching, and analyzing complex public policy, historical, political, and international affairs subjects ranging from UN peacekeeping to ancient Rome. My Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington and Lee University is a double major in History (concentration Asia and Russia) and Politics, and my Master of Science degree from the George Mason University School of Public Policy is in Peace Operations, a term which basically refers to everything that occurs in and concerns conflict/postconflict and disaster/postdisaster zones, especially international development, humanitarian relief and aid, and governance/institution building. I can easily provide a quality work product concerning any of these topics and many others, and can also easily research, write, and analyze new subjects. I also have extensive travel experience, including to Japan, Cuba, Liberia, Israel and the West Bank, and Jordan, to list some examples. My resume, which provides more detail, can be found on my LinkedIn profile http://www.linkedin.com/in/brianfrydenborg/ Please feel free to contact me regarding any of your research, writing, analysis, and consulting needs. I am also available for interviews as a subject-matter expert. NOTE TO CLIENTS: I DO NOT DO FIXED-PRICE CONTRACTS USING ODESK'S FIXED-PRICE SYSTEM. oDesk removed most protections for contractors with its new fixed price system so this is non-negotiable. HOWEVER, WE CAN AGREE TO A FIXED PRICE USING THE HOURLY SYSTEM TO BILL in that you can set an hourly cap on your end that will not allow the price to go past a certain point without your permission and action on your end and the system will not let me bill past this limit. In this situation, depending on our arrangement I can work until the job is done regardless of how many more hours past the cap it takes. My basic ground rules are 1.) any contract we make is going to only be the project outlined in that contract; additional work will require a separate contract as opposed to just adding to existing contract to keep things clear, and so that the client rating can reflect the actual work stipulated in said contract and not additional requests made after a contract is agreed upon 2.) I will be very responsive in my communication expect a similar responsiveness in return 3.) I ask that I not be held responsible for a third party's satisfaction with my work since you as the client, not I, have the relationship with the third party, but I will be happy to work off of feedback from a third party for any contract in order to address that third party's concerns 4.) if for any reason you are unsatisfied with my work I ask that you communicate to me the reasons why so that I may address any issues or offer a resolution that will bring you to a state of satisfaction 5.) If your work requires the APA documentation format and it is something other than a very short assignment, there will be a non-negotiable 10% surcharge because of the extra time this style requires. I look forward to doing business with you!

I hold a Masters degree in Philosophy for creative writing, am published as a novelist by one of the world's largest publishing houses and am represented by one of London's leading creative talent agencies. My strength is in fiction writing - I am a published author of fiction novels which are currently optioned for TV and film. My third novel has recently been submitted to my agent. A fourth and fifth are in progress. I was named on Waterstones book group's select list of 'New Voices' in 2010 and longlisted for Book of the Year that same year. I am a competent short fiction writer, having published online and in magazines, with one winning a national prize. I am actively involved in the on-going process of proofreading, editing and critiquing novels written by fellow authors, many of whom have also gone on to be successfully published. I have extensive experience in non-fiction work too, having produced published articles for travel magazines, reports for regional news events, and other opinion pieces. This experience also extends to travel and similar lifestyle-related web content. I have written a large number of in-depth analyses and reviews of various writing genres, provided synopses and critiques of novels for teaching purposes, and I also have vast experience in the preparation and writing of legal documents for criminal prosecutions. I am a creative writing tutor and mentor for adult students, having previously taught students enrolled with an international writing organisation, and occasionally run workshops for enthusiastic writers. I am a passionate writer with a broad range of skills. My work is meticulous and thorough with huge attention to detail. I work exceptionally well under pressure and guarantee high quality work with a very efficient turnaround rate. Despite joining oDesk almost two years ago, it is only now (having recently becoming a full-time freelancer) that I am able to commit to regular work.

Over the past 30 years I have written in every position ever held. Out of college I was a professional journalist, writing features, special sections, news, and every other type of writing associated with a daily paper. In later positions I've done editing, copywriting, advertising writing, script writing, blogging, newsletters, brochures, and have written two published books. In 2000 I wrote Surviving The Flesh Eating Bacteria, published by Penguin Putnam and in 2004 I wrote "How to Build a Miniature Gingerbread House" published by Running Press. I have followed several career paths, but writing has been a part of all of them. My most recent career as a Realtor has afforded me writing opportunities in web site content, newsletters, advertising copy, blogging, and proposal writing. I also keep up my skills with feature writing and a book I am working on. I have been building web pages since 1994 and still maintain several. I have a good work ethic, am organized, fast, reliable and conscientious.
I am a motivated, detail-oriented copywriter and editor with nearly five years of experience in the nonprofit communications and marketing field. I am comfortable writing and editing a variety of copy, including that for news releases, brochures, news stories, websites and books. I strive for clarity and accuracy in all my work, and possess strong communication skills.
