15-plus-year veteran of Japanese and English translation with experiences in the areas of business correspondences, proposals, global marketing, laser and optics, advance technologies, electrical manufacturing as an in-house translator for a global electronic manufacturer. Experienced in translation of various fields including disaster relief, legal, medical, real estate, retail, finance, marketing, surveys and academic as a freelancer. In addition to positive responses from the past clients on the speed of my translation, the way I include the nuance of the original language to the translation has been highly valued. Incorporating experiences in the office management and executive assistance in the bilingual environment (English and Japanese) - dealing with clients and colleagues both in Japanese and English daily, reading and writing bilingual business correspondences, understanding the cultural differences and acting as a liaison between two cultures. I have worked in Japan, Australia and the United States, so that I know the business culture of different countries and different industries. *Note: The hourly rate is negotiable depending on the project, and estimates will be given for fixed-rate projects.

I have more than 18 years experience in localization business, having worked as an in-house translator and language analyst (responsible for linguistic quality) at one of the top localization vendors for the last 15 years. I strongly believe the quality of translation is the most important aspect in localization. If translation quality doesn't meet the expectation of the end-users, meeting the tight deadlines or certain profitability is no use. Japanese is one of the most fussiest languages of all in terms of quality, and I hope to be able to contribute to the world of localization with the best of my abilities in bringing the standard of Japanese translation.
Ten years of experience with the Japanese language, with an N1 in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. I received a Master's degree from the University of Kyoto where I undertook graduate studies entirely in Japanese. Four years of experience translating both for companies and individuals, and specialize in topics related to the humanities such as history and philosophy. I work full time in the area, focused on translation/interpretation for 3D animation and television production. Due to schedule constraints I currently cannot take only any large tasks at the moment, but I am open to building long term working relationships beginning with relatively small quantities of work.
