Seek knowledge, skills, wisdom and work to earn experience in the field of Information Technology and/or Computer Science. My ultimate goal is to find a job inclined to the things that I love; games and Japanese animation (anime). Cultivate myself, nurture my skills and personality, and earn income to continue my pursuit for greater things while having the time of my life. It is one of my life long goals to one day step into the video game industry and become not only just the one holding the controller, but be the one of the people behind a great video game. Generally a bright and cheerful person, honest and friendly. I have a strong sense of responsibility. Hardworking and resilient in what I do. I have a passion in creating quality programs and enjoy working with thousands and thousands of codes. I take to heart and enjoy doing repetitive testing and debugging of programs to ensure utmost quality. I have fun assisting people and working within a team. I regard providing quality work most, and consider my work as a reflection of myself. My philosophy in life is to always have fun with whatever I do. I never let stress take over me. I always find ways to make everything I do fun. Life is short; there is no room for frowns. Even in work.
I have worked for three years as an independent Unity contractor, primarily in the realms of complex games and desktop & web applications. My Unity3D programming skills are nearly as good as my written and verbal English skills, which the SAT once told me were in the top .8% in the US. My gains from independent employment have paid for the >100 credits I've earned at my school. I am part-time finishing my last seventeen credits at College of Idaho (quote "Idaho's most prestigious undergrad college"), pursuing a polymath BA in Computer Science and International Political Economic Philosophy. I want to one day become an effective political activist for reform in America. My facebook handle is Political Reform Colin. [ Relelvant courses from the CofI: - C++ 1,2,3,4 - Special Programming Languages (Erlang) - C# Programming 1&2 - Mono Programming - Data Structures and Algorithms - Discrete Mathematics - Calculus 1,2,3 - Analytical Physics - Business Marketing - Small Business Management - Quantitative Analysis - Business Law. ] Though I'm new to ODesk, I'm willing to temporarily undervalue my time here in order to prove myself. My goal is to help support the structure of business, with reinforcement from technology and provide the solutions needed to achieve specific milestones. Over 16 years I have developed a vast range of experience and skills with applications starting from Windows 3.11 up to and including current operating systems. After I started game developing in my spare time, I realized that this is more than just a hobby to me! This is what I truly love to do and would die to work with! That is the reason I founded my own company to test out my skills as a designer and learn just what I am actually capable of, and it shows that I am quite excellent at what I do! When I am on a project, I work on it 24 hours a day - I can suddenly sprint out of the bath to note down ideas still soaking wet, because something just came to mind. My greatest hobby is gaming, and it have been so ever since I got my first Commandor 64 years and years ago - Personally I prefer role-games, MMO's and horror experiences, and creating such games would be just up my alley. I have just finished my Master degree in Medialogy at AAU-Cph in Denmark. It is here my skills has matured, and I have learned to quickly produce prototypes of various ideas and even full fledged usable scripts and mechanics (mainly in Unity3D). To praise myself I am an able programmer, an excellent innovative designer, and a fair 3D modeller, besides that I am also practicing novel writing, and hope to have a dark fantasy science-fiction book released within the next couple of years. Just recently I have become the co-founder of NullReferenceEntertainment, a company dedicated to freelance game development tasks, and at the same time we are developing games and apps for android tablets and phones.
