I have been writing all of my life. Before I could actually write, I would tell my mother stories and demand that she write them down for me. Even during my earliest years, I received much adulation and awards for my imagination and an innate skill for writing and the rules of composition. During my first college English course, I was encouraged to enter several writing and poetry contests, and apply for an internship at the college's local art and writing publication board. I have since fostered my writing and composition skills by experimenting in any given form of writing--among them, essays, guidebooks, articles, poetry, product and book reviews, scripts--but my strength has always been the short story. Several of my more passionate interests in writing include horror, paranormal and supernatural phenomena, fantasy, gothic, and alternate realities. I have also been translating, both in verbal and written formats, for most of my years. I am Puerto Rican and bilingual. I am fluent in Spanish--reading, writing, and speaking. I have both academic and real world experience in translation. My true passion is editing. I aim to earn my degree in English Composition and intern in an editing position. For me, there is nothing quite as fulfilling as working with an author to ensure that their piece is as good as it can possibly be, without losing the original voice of the writer. I have been gifted with a natural eye for errors or improvements, as well as an OCD that forces me to go over a piece multiple times for perfect accuracy. As to my education, I was publicly schooled until my fourth year. Up until that point, I was enrolled in several enrichment and music programs. I was also tested multiple times and found to be a child genius. After fourth grade, I was homeschooled for the rest of my basic education. This allowed me to pursue and excel in my many interests, namely writing, music, culinary arts, editing, and really anything creative. At age 15, I enrolled in college and earned an Associate of Science in Business Management before completing high school at age 18. I am currently enrolling to begin a degree in English with a minor in Creative Writing.
