I believe in excellence. Writing isn't about just putting words on paper, it's about expressing ideas. Like any art, the writer has only been successful if the reader sees what he sees, hears what he hears, and feels what he feels. I am an experienced writer with over 180 books published; in addition to my 500+ page web site and 3 blogs. Let's just say, I've been writing for a while. I started writing as an engineer, writing proposals for the company I worked for. As such, my writing had to be clear, concise and answer the questions before they were asked. My writing had to convince the higher-ups in the company to spend money, make changes and believe in what I was saying. When I write, I strive for clarity, simplicity and something that will stir the reader to action. Any subject, no matter how dull it seems, has something in it that can excite; otherwise it would die from apathy. I want to find that thing which excites and express it to others. I have Five general areas in which I consider myself a strong writer. While each of them seem totally separate from each other, they form the structure of who I am, and where I've come from. 2 - Survival and Prepping - I started out as a survivalist as a teen, in the 1970s. That was the latter days of the Cold War and along with some friends, I had plans to head for the Colorado Rockies. Seeing the need, I started studying survival. I guess that just never left me. With the resurgence of interest in survival brought about in the modern prepping movement, I decided that my knowledge was needed. There is too much being written by people who don't know survival, to sell to this niche. When I write about it, it's from the viewpoint of personal experience. When I explain how to do something, it's because I've already done it. 1 - Technical subjects - I'm not talking about product reviews here, I'm talking about engineering technical subjects. As a former engineer, I can grasp technical issues, and explain them in a way that others can grasp what I am saying. Although not normally considered "technical" I must include the building trades amongst this, as I have also been a contractor. If you need "how-to" articles written on the building trades, I can almost do it in my sleep. I find that very few technical people can write well, and very few writers understand technical issues well. I guess that makes me the oddball. Maybe I'm the oddball you need. 2 - Education - I am passionate about the need to educate our children; to bring about reform in our schools; and to bring technology into the classroom. If something isn't done about our educational system, the United States will no longer be able to be world leader, we'll slide back into being a third world country. 3 - Marriage and Family - Amongst my personal writing, there is a fairly large section dealing with marriage, family issues, child raising, and maintaining a healthy marriage relationship. Of my three blogs, one is a daily posting; it is called: "Romantic Act of the Day." Need I say any more? 4 - Christianity and the Bible - Most of the books I have written are for Christians, the Church and teaching about the Bible. I hold a masters degree in Biblical Studies, and an honorary doctorate degree, awarded to me for my writing. No, I don't know it all, I'm just trying to learn it all. I won't say that I can't write about other areas, because I can. I have written a fair amount about business as well. But these four areas are my strengths.
