I received my degree in English and French from the National University of Ireland in Galway, where I also pursued an MA in Medieval Studies, and I have recently been awarded a PhD in Classics at the same university (graduation in July).
I have been teaching in the Department of Classics for the past 5 years, mostly Latin and Roman History; great part of my job has been, and still is, to read, correct and evaluate my students' essays as well as organize and coordinate courses with lecturers.
I have been a member of the editorial committee of "The Imbas Journal: proceedings of the Imbas Conference of Medieval Studies," a lively journal collecting writings from some of the best up and coming young scholars in Europe and the US in the field of Classical, Late Antique and Medieval Studies.
I presented papers related to my doctoral research in Cork, Galway, Leeds and twice at the International Congress of Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a yearly, world renowned appointment for medievalists. I am also a part time translator for the Psychology Department at the Universita' degli Studi di Torino, my work mainly focusing on translating academic articles on child psychology from Italian into English.Beside English and French, both of I am proficient in, and obviously Italian, my mother tongue, I can also work with Spanish.
Since I have begun my career as a freelancer, I have been involved in several translation projects of both academic and creative pieces, as well as websites. I am currently editor and writer for the website lifeintaly.com, and I have been providing English translations from French to English to Dorcelle.
I have very high standards of work and I am greatly efficient. I am extremely dedicated to my job, and I intend to provide always the best service to my employer. Last, but certainly not least, I have a fundamental, ever running passion for what I do, both in University and as a translator and editor: this is the strongest guarantee of my efficiency.
