I've been doing art all my life. My mom was an Art Historian and I grew up loving Italian Renaissance Masters. Human anatomy and portraits are still my favorite thing to draw other than cartoons, monsters, cowgirls, and sci-fi action heros.

My illustration style breaks two ways, one towards an atmospheric realism that I blame reading a lot of New Mutants back in the day for. I loved Bill Synchowitz's art, and have always been drawn to that rough but real style. My cartooning style goes back a little further to old 1930's to 50's comics (my uncle had a great collection) like popeye, archie, or little Nemo. I also have a lot of love for the Underground Comics of the 60's: R. Crumb, Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, and anything done by Ralph Bakshi or Los Bros Hernandez.
I got my design chops directly from the Cincinnati local music scene, first designing for my punk bands, and later for my traditional Irish folk band, the Blue Rock Boys. I love 50's and 60's design. Especially Bluenote Jazz records of that era. I'm also a big fan of dada, early soviet art, ornate art nouveau and old circus posters.
I got my commercial break when I interned at OMS Photography. I had some experience recording audio, and they needed a retoucher and an audio tech. There I learned Photoshop and Illustrator and my technique was refined by their great retouching staff. They're biggest client at the time was Under Armour, so I worked mostly on sports apparel.

After OMS, I turned to freelancing and widening my skills. In the past two years I've created video game assets, educational game assets, animations for games and web ads, and illustrations. I've also done a lot of retouching for such brands as: Receese, Baggallini, Dear Foam, and Foot Petals. And I've kept my sound and video editing skills going doing a series of Foot Petals videos.
