Media Company, UK This project was a data project; the client imported and exported over 100k records per month and needed guidance and assistance in setting Salesforce up as well as looking at 3rd party applications that could ensure the data processes were simple yet stable and flexible. Hey everyone! I am a recent graduate (May 2014) from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a B.S.in Finance. I have a passion for travel which led me to oDesk as I was researching becoming location independent, my ultimate career/life goal. My first semester of my senior year I was brought on to intern at a local start up (PhoenixVenturz) in which I turned Co-Founder and launched WASOKO.co. WASOKO.co was created to be a matching service between USA Manufacturers of capital equipment with foreign buyers. Working at a start up provided me with an amazing opportunity to be exposed to all of the aspects of starting and running a business. I was involved in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Product Development, and any other item that needed to be addressed. It was exciting learning something new, applying it, and directly impacting the company. A lot of time and effort, including competing in the Chicago Lean Start Up Challenge 2014, went into trying to make WASOKO.co a success. But ultimately it has been something that has been put on hold due to unforeseen circumstances. Prior to PhoenixVenturz, I had an internship in London U.K. This has become one of the most valuable learning experiences I have had to date.
