Yes, I have become a Joomla Snob and I have always known that the day would come. I have 10 years Joomla experience and I don't plan to switch careers just yet. I have many years experience and am enjoying the new version, Joomla 3. There are a lot of sites that are needing moved/upgraded, etc., so I am concentrating my efforts in that direction. Right now, there are a lot of sites on here that are asking for updating of their sites and they are running Joomla 2.5. I am supposing many of them are not aware that the 2.5 version is supported only until next year. You may end up eventually going to Joomla 3.x - so why not do it now and implement your changes all at one time? If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. ...A Word About PSD to HTML (Joomla) I thought I would take some time and explain a few things to employers about converting a PSD to HTML or a PSD to Joomla. I see lots of posts about this all the time. There are many different ways to do this, however, I am seeing many employers requesting that the site look exactly like the PSD. Although this is a good aspiration, it is not practical by any means. We are currently in a crux in regards to web design and development. Many are hearing about responsive and mobile friendly sites. Currently, there are a lot of sites that can be viewed in a smartphone or tablet, however, have you ever tried to use that site - click links, register, etc.? The bottom line is that currently, no, Google is not going to "ding" you if you don't have a responsive site - but is that the case for the future? Probably not and the reason is that all Google cares about is it's users - period. If it makes their search experience better to serve up responsive sites first, it will. Look at past experience, Google has never sided on the side of the business owner, ever, nor will they in this regard. They own the world in a weird, round about way. So when you ask for a PSD to HTML or Joomla site, it IS possible to get a somewhat good representation of the PSD, however things will move and stack. For example, you may have a slider at the top of your page and then some small articles in blocks. The slider will reduce in size and the blocks will move singularly below the slider for smartphones. The menu will be at the top in a very accessible way, instead of the user trying to click the tiny links on the page in a smartphone. Is that better for the user? It sure is - and that is what your focus should be - the user, because that is what makes you money or gains your dominance in your niche. I see this all the time and just wanted to put in my two cents. I realize you can post the most impossible job on here and many will say they can do it, just beware of those people.
