I have over 15 years experience with computers. Like everybody else, I have had to deal with Viruses, Spyware, Adware, Malware, Ransomeware, and other STRANGE things that effect a computers performance. I have learned to keep an eye on these problems, and fix computers from a distance. I can do a full malware scan, and infection removal without you bringing me your computer, or me stepping through your house, or office, front door. If you are having a problem with pop-ups, strange ads while browsing your favorite websites, slow computer speeds, or just want to make sure nothing is wrong that could effect your personal documents, pictures, music, or videos, I'm definitely the guy.
I'm an IT professional with 8 years' experience architecting and managing VMware virtualization and cloud infrastructures. I built and led my own team in developing a highly available, multi-site, multi-tenant cloud platform for a well-known nonprofit government contractor. While working there, I also consulted with several government agencies on their projects. My architectural work spanned virtualization and cloud technologies, as well as networking, storage and storage fabrics, server hardware, and even power distribution. I focused heavily on business continuity and disaster recovery, and maintained enterprise-class rigor in process and change management. I also worked with several non-technical customers to assess their needs and translate them into technical realities. I've taught a highly-reviewed course on virtualization and the cloud for six years to students with a broad range of experience. I enjoy leveraging the skills I've developed there to help less-technical students achieve a deep understanding of sophisticated technical concepts. For the last year, I've worked with my new company, Ten David, on an iOS calendar called TimeFrame, which was just released to rave reviews on the App Store. I've also been working as an independent consultant on virtualization projects, and continuing to teach my class. I'm developing a new class on virtualization and cloud security this year. My schedule is flexible, and I'm interested in part time work in virtualization and cloud engineering or architecture.

I have been in the IT industry for almost 20 years. Over that span I have worked for US Foods as a System Administrator, Functional Area Lead and Deployment Team Lead. As part of a team working for US Foods, we changed the entire business system for 30+ warehouses nationwide, oftentimes working five or more consecutive sites. Currently I am a contractor for the United States Department of Defense functioning as a Unix System Administrator.
I have almost a decade of experience working in the industry and gained much experience working with both large corporate clients and small start-up organisations. This exposed me to working with a range of environments; delivering scalable, resilient platforms for high-traffic sites using Amazon Web Services and collaboration platforms hosted on a client’s own infrastructure. Having worked with a wide variety of technologies and clients helps me in analysing a client’s situation and suggesting platforms or solutions to suggest, or being able to work with a pre-existing environment. When I started my career, my focus was traditional system administration; assisting in managing a corporate network, building servers and dealing with support. However, I soon developed a passion for building and maintaining server environments, which lead me to begin learning and adopting processes, tools and work flows to automate build processes and environment management. This includes working closely with software developers to implement workflows that allow for smooth, automated, releases of code and the rapid deployment of development environments. These practices have been codified by the term “DevOps” and it addresses a lot of the problems traditionally associated with software development and deployment.
