I offer excellence and attention to detail: accuracy with integrity. "You taught that lesson better than I did." - Donald T. Williams, PhD, my professor of grammar, in response to the 20-minute lesson I taught on coordinate adjectives as a final project in his class While working on my B.A. in English, which I earned in 2005, I copy edited the student newspaper for a year and the college's literary magazine for three years. In 2010-2011 I earned 12 credits toward a master's degree in library and information science (MLIS) but - although I enjoyed most of the classes very much and learned a lot - I decided that a library job is not what I really want after all, after learning more about the options in the field and discovering more about myself as I matured into my late 20s. My career goal is to make a living from home through online editing jobs. It would be the perfect career for me, an introvert tired of customer service and rude customers. It would especially be perfect if my husband and I have children. You can see my profile on my company's website here: http://www.theghostwritingagency.com/wp/ghostwriting-about-us/ " 'Beauty is truth, truth beauty,' - that is all / Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know." - Keats I believe in correctness (truth) and aesthetics (beauty) blended together however and whenever possible in writing. Just as a good surfer can "read" the waves beneath his or her board, I can feel the aesthetic flow of words in a paragraph or an article. I prefer to make minimal changes to anyone's writing, regarding sentence structure and content (not grammar), unless it definitely needs it. I do not want to drown the writer's voice, just guide it. One of the strongest skills and motivations I possess in life is the driving desire for correctness, especially in the area of grammar. It is like breathing to me; it is practically my sixth sense. I can sniff out a comma splice a league away (the scent emanates strongly from the Harry Potter books on my shelf). Linguistics and language patterns come easily and naturally to me; I am learning Japanese and know a good amount of Spanish (not enough to edit those languages yet).

I am a molecular biologist, an avid reader, and a talented editor. As an accomplished researcher and scientific writer, I have authored and co-authored several publications in the medical community. I was also a nominee for the 2005 Sun-Sentinel Best Editorial Award. However, when the work is done, I love nothing more than curling up with a great novel. I have a passion for books, fiction or not, and apply this love of reading into my editing approach. My edit is meant to ensure the manuscript is well-written and error-free. What it includes: · Copyediting: ensures the copy is clear, correct, concise, comprehensible, and consistent · Line editing: addresses awkward sentence structure and word/phrase repetition · Proofreading: a final check of the manuscript for errors and typos
