Expert C/C++/CUDA developer

Russia - Last active: 4 days ago - Tests: 10

Software Engineer with more than 7 years of experience, have a lot of completed production C++ and Python projects, have strong GPU programming skills (CUDA), highly interested (and have several last years of uninterrupted experience) in Computer Science, especially in Data Analysis, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition and Data Mining fields. During the last 5 years I have worked on: - Computer Vision solutions (video survilliance techniques, Object Detection, Object Classification). - Machine Learning solutions (Neural Networks, Support Vector Machines, Decision Trees etc.). - Data Analysis solutions (statistics, visual search, visual indexing). During these years I have coded in C/C++, Python (main languages), Java and matlab. I create solutions for different platforms (Linux, Windows, Mac). I can use any VCS (mercurial, git, SVN etc.), having worked with other programmers in several projects (including technical leading). I have widely used libraries such as OpenCV, PCL (Point Cloud Library) and FFMPEG, and I have wide experience with solutions based on them (including optimization of existing algorithms). I also have strong QT skills (both front-end like GUI and back-end like threads, containers, databases, networking etc.) from early 3.x versions to the latest 5.x (including porting to the newer major version).

C++, CUDA, Matlab, Simulink, Optics

Russia - Last active: 1 day ago - Tests: 8

My main skills are C, C++, Matlab, Python, Simulink, GPGPU (CUDA, OpenCL), machine learning, computer vision (incl. OpenCV), DSP (audio processing, image processing). I work with these technologies for several years and can show projects in which I used them. My additional skills are are: Javascript, Angularjs, Ruby, Haskell, C#, SQL, Qt... I used these technologies to solve minor tasks, not large projects as for the "main skills". Batteries included: unix shell scripting, vcs (hg, git), ssh, makefiles. The projects I most proud of: * Development of the "high-level" algorithmic parts of a satellite sun tracker. A sun tracker is a device that helps a satellite to find its orientation. I was to develop algorithms of searching, catching and tracking sun. Devices that use the algorithms I developed are being set on several types of satellites. * Development of mathematical methods which improve accuracy of different devices including the sun tracker above. For example, my algorithm that compensates effects of temperature increases device accuracy by approx. four times (from 7 to 2 arcminutes). * I also developed algorithms for devices that are not in production yet: rangemeters, anglemeters, 3d scanners etc. and helped with the development of algorithms of statellite Earth tracker. * Research and development of the way to optically find parameters of thin films. It was an optimization problem which I tried to solve using different methods (including genetic algorithms and particle swarm optimization). I found a solution and it was very computationally-heavy, that is why I wrote the core algorithm with CUDA and Thrust. * I developed an interactive mode for Clay programming language (claylabs.com/clay/) that uses LLVM JIT technique. My patches can be found in the work-in-progress branch at github (https://github.com/jckarter/clay/pulls/galchinsky?direction=desc&page=1&sort=created&state=closed). Unfortunately the project is not being developed now. * Odesk clients gave me opportunities to help them in different interesting fields. I made several interesting projects: image stitching, GPGPU financial app., semi-automatic tumor detector and a dozen of small projects that are listed in my odesk profile.

While studying sound engineering & acoustics and being a passionate programmer, so far I've developed some desktop apps(Java/JNI/C/C++) and one applet (Java & SQL), mainly based on speech intelligibility tests and designed for hearing impairment diagnostics & hearing aids fitting/comparison.My other software was for doing some extensive signal processing (for example, spatial filtering & beamforming with multichannel recordings ~ for my bachelors degree in acoustics) and other custom manipulation on audio data (C#, Matlab), but ~sound~ is not my only point of interrest. I like to code tricky stuff, not only sound-focused, and I'm familiar with other areas & API's like Qt, Direct3D, DirectSound, OpenGL, OpenAL, winmm or nvidia CUDA, so far due to my home-alone, hobby-oriented, non-commercial experiences. Always wanted to develop games/scientific applications/utils, but I'm open for any offer that could make the world a better place ;)

Software Engineer, System Developer

Germany - Last active: 12/16/2013 - Tests: 6

On the faculty of System Development of TU Budapest it has been always important to give the students an overall view of the full life cycle of software development. During my master studies I gained knowledge about designing, implementing and testing a software product and was introduced to the world of project management and software quality assurance. On the courses every important aspect of the JavaEE platform and the 3-tier architecture was covered including the client tier (e.g. AWT, Swing, HTML, AJAX, Javascript), business tier (e.g. Enterprise Beans, Java business logic code), the data tier (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server) and the interfaces between these layers (e.g. RMI, CORBA, Web Service, REST, JDBC). Over the last few years my research areas have been medical imaging, GPU, GPGPU and 3D programming. During my MSc years I was introduced to the topic of medical imaging and highly parallel computing, my master thesis deals with positron emission tomography (PET) simulation on GPU in C++ and CUDA. I am proud of winning the 3rd best paper award at "Central European Seminar on Computer Graphics for students 2011" and being the co-author of one of the articles in "GPU Pro 3" by Wolfgang Engel. In my free time I work with Java for various self-made projects using the Android SDK and the Google Web Toolkit. My personal favorite project is an online 2D game, which is being developed fully in JavaScript.
