A full-time writer and editor since 2001, I have a multitude of experience in writing and editing both on-staff and on a freelance basis. I have advanced Microsoft Word skills, plus experience working in other office platforms, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. I also am experienced in working with Sharepoint sites and other databases. In my current position as a Medical Editor, I have developed project management skills, often juggling upwards of 20 projects simultaneously, working with team members both in my capacity as an editor and in driving the project toward completion in scheduling approvals, distributing materials and information to team members, scheduling tasks and updating trackers and calendars. In addition I have been a regular working freelance writer since 2004 when I started working regularly with INtake Magazine, the Indianapolis Star’s sister publication. I became INtake’s regular movie reviewer, providing weekly movie reviews until Nov. 2008. I also compiled and contributed to a weekly entertainment review page, managing a team of 3-4 writers to produce weekly TV, CD, book and video game reviews for 3 years. I also provided a variety of other miscellaneous assignments, writing literally hundreds of articles for them from 2004-2008, when their magazine changed focus. I am also an experienced blogger and columnist, both for INtake/indy.com and in other outlets. I started the movie review and commentary site The Film Yap (www.thefilmyap.com) in 2009 with my partner, and we co-manage the site, providing weekly movie and DVD reviews as well as managing a staff of 10 writers, making assignments, writing and editing posts and articles, conducting interviews and running promotional contests and giveaways. I also am primarily responsible for obtaining advertising and collaborating on other promotional opportunities.
