I've started as a FreeBSD (and later Linux) system administrator in 1998. This included configuration and tuning of operation systems and various unix services as well as writing custom scripts to automate work and monitor things. Since 2003 my primary area of expertise switched to planning, building and operating networks, mostly based on (but not limited to) Cisco products and solutions, that's why I became CCIE #22125. However, unix-like systems are still part of my life and currenly becoming more and more important for me.
My experience as system administrator is mostly focus on Linux. Skills include deploying, migrating and managing Linux systems, development of high-load redundant clusters, automating operational tasks using puppet, perl, shell scripting with attention to documentation, standardization, procedures and policies. I’m a perfectionist in work and in my life.
