I've studied journalism and media studies at Rutgers University and sketch comedy writing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York. I've written (and punched up) stand-up material, one-liners and humor essays, beta-tested a parody news website, scripted animated series, copy-written greeting cards, and won a pun-off.     Dylan Chesser is a reporter, copyeditor and news designer who was born in Kingsport, Tenn. Chesser discovered his love of publications when he joined his high school's yearbook staff. That love of publications developed into a love of writing and journalism within the first few years of his undergraduate work at East Tennessee State University. Chesser started working for his college newspaper as a staff reporter in January 2012 and quickly rose to the rank of news editor due to his extreme work ethic and creative prowess. He held the position of news editor for the next three semesters and greatly influenced his peer section editors in matters of journalistic quality and news design. He left that position in May 2013 to pursue opportunities in the professional world of journalism. Chesser was hired as a reporter for The Erwin Record, a weekly publication in Erwin, Tenn., in August 2013. In his time at The Erwin Record, he covered everything from business to education to government. However, he specialized in the field of health care. When he was hired, Mountain States Health Alliance, a medical group that services 29 counties across four states, was in the process of acquiring Unicoi County Memorial Hospital, a publicly funded hospital that was operating on a deficit. He wrote numerous articles about the hospital-acquisition process and incorporation of new hospital leadership.
