Fields of expertise : 1. Machine learning 2. Computer vision 3. Kinect and Depth based cameras. 4. Pattern recognition. 5. Industrial automation using computer vision. 6. Topical crawlers and search engines. 7. Data Mining. 8. Distributed computing.
I have experience of 3+ years of data mining in different fields like: computer vision, pattern recognition, text mining, natural language processing etc. For last year I took part in some big data projects using hadoop+java and map/reduce pattern. In my work I use python, java, R, c# and sql.
I joined IBM T.J. Watson Research, Industry Solution group in Spring 2012. I worked as a J2EE software engineer from 2006 to 2008. I obtained a Ph.D of Computer Science from University of California, Los Angeles, with major in Machine Learning and minors in Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining. I have been awarded the Most Outstanding Ph.D Graduate Award, the Northrup-Grumman Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award, the Chancellor Award for Most Outstanding Applicants, all from Computer Science Department, UCLA and the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Chinese Students Overseas, 2010. I am interested in developing efficient algorithms and machine learning techniques to solve real world problems. I am also interested in problems on combinatorial optimization, data mining and information retrieval. I had worked as a consultant for many start-ups on various projects and I have solid background on both research and development. My home page: www.cs.ucla.edu/~danhe
Am a software developer with three years experience in machine learning and data modelling. I can program in python, matlab,c ,java and Vb.net. My areas of expertise include predictive analysis using linear and logistic regression,Artificial neural networks including ( forward and back propagation). Am also experienced in unsupervised learning (classification problems) using support vector machines and k-means clustering. I have 2 years experience in data modelling using principal component analysis and feature mapping . I have an year's experience configuring and setting up AWS especially in amazon s3 ,cloudfront and Ec2 services.I also have more than 4 years setting and troubleshooting windows environments. I am a very dedicated and motivated person always seeking ways to improve and innovate solutions to everyday problems.

If you want to create a trading system, run a statistical analysis, develop a pricing model, build a financial GUI, or find a pattern in a sea of data, I may be the guy to help. I work primarily in MATLAB, C#, and Python. On the finance side, I'm a CAIA Charterholder, with an Economics degree and experience at McKinsey & Company. On the technical side, I hold degrees (with honors) in Engineering, and worked at a number of California tech companies through the 1990's and early 2000's. Since 2008 I've focused my work in the field of computational finance. Recent clients have included: a Swiss proprietary trading desk (Energy Futures), a Canadian hedge fund (Currencies), a US asset management firm (Equities & Bonds), a US portfolio consulting firm, a US aircraft manufacturing operation, and several others. For those clients I have developed, backtested, and deployed alpha-seeking trading strategies, automated execution algorithms, portfolio optimization models, user-friendly GUI tools. Techniques have included machine learning algorithms, classifiers, feature detectors, digital filters, matrix-based models, and concepts borrowed from detection theory and signal processing, along with various technical analysis indicators. I've worked with many financial platforms and data feeds: Deltix QuantOffice (C#), CQG API, Bloomberg, Interactive Brokers API, MultiCharts (PowerLanguage), MultiCharts.NET (C#), TradeStation (EasyLanguage), FIX (HotspotFx), ITCH (HotspotFx), etc. I can integrate other systems with MATLAB or Excel where there's an advantage. I've created C/C++ .mex files, VBA macros, Java/MATLAB integration, MATLAB/Excel integration. I've been programming in MATLAB since 1990, and can sometimes get it to do things that others can't. I can also translate or port a MATLAB application to other languages, especially Python or C#. I'm located in Southern California. For clients located within 2 hours, I can drive to meet you (sometimes same day, schedule permitting). I'm also happy to work remotely. I'm a US Citizen and have held a security clearance, though it is no longer active. The foundation of every successful project is good communication. If you have a project that needs to be done well, then let's communicate!
