I have a lot of experience with the translation of technical documents from English to Italian and I've also worked as a Computer Hardware Technician which makes me a perfect candidate for the translation of IT related technical documents. I have translated complex documents like medical science research reports and several chapters of a construction engineering textbook. Recently, I have finished translating a 8000 words user manual for Impeto Medical and a Framework Agreement contract for Huawei, and I am trying to extend my services to more customers worldwide. I have gained a lot of experience during the past 5 years and I have improved quite a lot. Currently I can translate from 2200 up to 3000 words in 5-6 hours of work depending on the complexity of the content, working on technical documents has given me a lot of experience on how to convey the words contained in the original document while making sure that they are easy to read for the speakers of the target language and without altering the meaning of the source document in any way. This brought the company in full compliance with regulatory and privacy obligations. -Created a billing database for Small Groups to ensure proper and accurate billing. This helped the company retain business and saved many man-hours of work monthly. -Created many macros for Word and Excel to help others automate repetitive tasks thereby improving efficiency in the workplace. I have created databases in Lotus Notes to store production history. This helped the company comply with legal historical requirements by putting the data in one repository. I designed and created a many-table database to hold mainframe data in order to streamline ad-hoc reporting. I wrote Cobol programs to extract the mainframe's VSAM data into multiple flat files for input into a DB2 database running on an AIX server . This allowed us to create new reports for Sales and others in hours instead of the company's standard of weeks. I was half of the team that was most likely the first VSE mainframe shop to run without a mainframe printer. We utilized a beta version of mainframe TCP/IP software to push reports to a network printer and/or PDF files for emailing. This greatly cut electricity and paper costs as well as an hour from the nightly batch.
