I am an independent paralegal with 9 years experience assisting in immigration related cases--mostly defense of deportation. I am directly responsible for successful outcomes in almost 30 cases in the last 3 years. I have consulted on a number of high profile immigration cases, and I've provided input on cases that had positive outcomes in the United States Supreme Court. My writing experience includes drafting all manner of legal pleadings: complaints, appeal briefs, agreements, and various other routine legal documents. Briefs I’ve written have led to successful outcomes before the Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and various US Courts of Appeal. I’ve celebrated with quite a few clients upon their release from immigration detention centers across the country. That’s my favorite part of my day-job. The pure joy my clients express after time in confinement makes the hot coals I have to walk over to carry water for them more than worth it. EDITING I am the editor-in-chief in my office. Nothing goes out without my approval. Long ago, my colleagues noted that they were more successful when I edit and proofread their copy. Paragraphs flowed more freely, sentences and ideas were more concise, and thus they benefited from greater clarity. I am also an efficient proofreader. I'll catch it! You may not appreciate my bluntness, but you'll certainly appreciate that your error didn't juke you and escape into the wild--leaving you to deal with the resulting misunderstanding. I have multiple 5 star reviews for proofreading and editing from particularly demanding clients. WRITING Last year a client’s sister asked me to help her write a research paper. Although writing is technically what I do for a living, it doesn’t feel like that at all at my day job. This more creative writing re-sparked my passion for writing, and I’ve since ghostwritten a number of academic and creative writing pieces. I’m looking to continue developing as a writer. Structured or free-form, whether you desire something extemporaneous or persuasive, I am sure I am conversant and capable. I'm also fluent in most citation styles and formats. I have a little blue book for ones that escape me. DESKTOP PUBLISHING Finally, I am an eBook formatting expert. I'll optimize your content for flawless presentation to all the major vendors, as well as assist you publish on their bookstores. This includes: Apple Store, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, CreateSpace, Google Books, Kobo, Smashwords. I'll provide you with the respective format for each store and I'll ensure your e-book is optimally formatted for Kindle, epub for Android, Apple's i-Ecosystem, Nooks, Sony/Kobo devices and other e-readers. I convert and optimize for any format: PDF; AZW; MOBI; EPUB2; EPUB3. I have a catalog of over 5000 books, and I estimate I have about 2000 hours formatting, polishing, and filing my collection. Buying an ebook on Amazon doesn’t mean the ebook will be free from formatting errors. I don’t know how many times I’ve had to edit an ebook that refers to Jack Reacher as Jack Readier, and tells me how he ejected the "elip" from his "Clock .40". I keep abreast of the latest developments in ebook formatting. Like I said, I’m an enthusiast and I want the best for my catalog. I have the enthusiast’s obsession for perfecting and polishing in addition to the professional’s dedication to seeing the project successfully completed. Your project will benefit from my continuing obsession. I follow modern design trends, concepts, and best practices. I EVEN DO THE NEW POPUP FOOTNOTES. Word to the wise I have no truck with fixed layout, and you shouldn’t either. If you’re looking for a fixed layout epub in most (not all, but most) cases you are much, much better off going with a PDF. It is next to impossible to control what your readers will do with your EPUB once they’ve installed it on their device. The proliferation of readers, and devices makes it impossible to control the book once it’s out in the wild, and any negative association—even if completely the reader’s fault—will reflect negatively on you the author. Unless you have a niche scientific audience, (or you have a burning desire to deal with negative comments on your website and the resultant loss of sales) you will be much, much, much better off formatting your EPUB to account for all the charts and eschewing fixed format EPUBs altogether. No less an authority than the International Digital Publishing Forum backs me up on this. I now offer unique, expertly designed ebook covers. I hired an assistant who specializes in that sort of thing. Writing Nights. Facimus quod oportet fieri. We don't fail, we don't miss. You request. We deliver. Crusading against failure, plagiarism, missed deadlines . . .chasing the light I divide my time between Texas, and a tropical island in the Caribbean. I’m not a big fan of winter.
I want to help organizations and individuals realize their vision by helping them build their systems and applications. I'm a senior developer, systems/network engineer, solutions architect, and project manager with over 17 years experience in the information and communication technology industry. I've held top management & technology leadership positions in several startup ventures in the field of operating systems & virtualization, mobile technologies, systems integration, and business applications. Two have been acquired at an early stage. I've recently worked as CEO for an offshore development & design outsourcing firm from Israel focused on web & mobile technologies and as CTO for a startup social gaming firm from Canada where I work hands-on with technology while mentoring small but growing teams. I've also led larger technology groups with over a hundred people sometimes from distributed locations. I've developed custom systems directly used by customers & end users. I've also developed systems as a subcontractor and publisher. My most recent projects include an emergency app on the Nokia Store, a geo-social app & a geo/social game on the Android Market, a JavaME app for a celebrity gossip magazine, a mobile/web ordering & delivery tracking system, and a web/mobile rock paper scissors tournament game. I've started my IT inclination as a computer enthusiast way back in college where I took on computer assembly and repair jobs as well as data encoding and desktop publishing to finance my education. Eventually, I learned programming in Turbo Pascal, Turbo C, DBase III+, and Foxpro/Clipper and took on small projects building software applications and database applications such as POS, inventory, and rental systems. Over the years, I kept myself updated with the changing trends and technologies, familiarize myself with new tools, methodologies & practices, and seek opportunities to utilize what I've learned commercially. I've setup systems for small businesses, small ISPs, and more recently small call centers during my spare time. All while playing a key role in the projects or companies I worked for.

I've been working in a data publishing company for 6 years, wherein I did a lot of data processing tasks such as book editing, formatting, zoning, proofreading, image editing, and web researching. For almost two years we did ebook conversion with Apple, we converted books from pdf into epub, mastering xhmtl and css are the important components for this process. Knowing all of these things made me a more mature and learned person. My ability has seen by my colleagues and team managers with thumbs up. However, I am still willing to learn more while helping anybody who is in need of - sincere and responsible individual like me.
