I've a great passion for linux systems and open source software. Since 2008 I'm working as linux System Engineer for a company, which is developing software that is provided to our customers as SaaS. For some clients we also provide installations "on site". This gave me great experience in working with CentOS and RedHat linux, puppet, kickstart, nginx as a proxy server, DRBD, database clusters using PostgreSQL with streaming replication, BIND, postfix, pki-authentication, bash-scripting and others. I'm also familiar with other linux operating systems like debian, ubuntu and gentoo. Buzzwords: puppet, linux, CentOS, debian, ubuntu, gentoo, nginx, nagios, bash, perl, DNS, BIND, email, postfix, postgrey, carp, DRBD, KVM, ssl, pki, x509, iptables, ipv6, PostgreSQL.
I would like to offer you my deep knowledge of servers hardware and software, which allows me to fine-tune servers according to their roles, and my ability to anticipate and solve problems in shortest time possible. No Windows please, Unices only, Linux preferrable. Lately my main point of interest has shifted to deploying and maintaining web projects in cloud environments. I am developing monitoring / management tool ( http://m-script.org ) and supporting existing installations, but I am very well familiar with all well known alternatives from both monitoring and cloud management side, so no problem to implement any of them. The point is, I know very well how it works. And how it doesn't, too :) I am interested in any system administration work, especially in cloud environments. The more challenging you setup is going to be, the better. Automated scalability, cross-clouds deployments, combination of traditional and dynamically scalable resources, DNS/Geo balancing - everything is possible, just let me know your needs.
I have more than 5 years working as a Linux systems administrator specializing in management for cPanel based servers in both virtual and dedicated environments. Stronger areas: Operating Systems: CentOS / Fedora / CloudLinux Control Panels: cPanel / Direct Admin / SolusVM / Kloxo Billing Systems: ClientExec, WHMCS, HostBill Database: MySQL / MariaDB Web Server: Apache / LiteSpeed / Nginx Virtualization: OpenVZ / XEN / KVM Various Others: cPanel DNS Clusters, Any work including the following: Initial setup of the server which includes configuring software/hardware raid, disk partitioning(LVM as well) Installing OS, Control panel, hardening/optimizing the server including firewall, rebuilding Apache / PHP, setup private name servers, migrating accounts to the server, ensuring all sites are working and make adjustments to server if necessary, make further optimizations to server to best fit the current environment.
