    My career to date has involved various consultant roles for small companies. This has brought out a strong track record in simple, robust Excel analysis tools. I have developed Excel tools for a variety of infrastructure companies (think ports, highways, airports, security firms). One key outcome of the tools I have developed is that they must be robust and user friendly so that they can be readily and easily used. The tools focus on: Monitoring change, risk assessment, data reporting, results reporting and guidance, analysis of incoming / static data, controlling data from multiple sources, prototyping more advanced systems, forecasting costs or requirements etc. Data analysis and categorisation (yep, I'm English) is a prerequisite for these projects Usually projects take about a week or two, but an in-depth application can take up to 6 months. For the longer projects research is often a key feature. The research needs to be undertaken, and the results are analysed and then applied when the user seeks to understand how the data applies to them or their situation. Technical ability with Excel and VBA includes: Macros, array formulae, more advanced functions such as offset, named ranges, dynamic ranges, dynamic charts, statistical functions.  less
