The path which lead me to where I am now began when I was about eight years old. After playing a few games of Baldies, an old real-time strategy game, I asked my mom and dad how video games were made. As soon as they told me that they were programmed, I was on my way and hooked. Within a year, and not without the help of my similarly-minded grandfather, I learned a lot of QBASIC. I soon managed to pick up HTML, as well. After a couple of years, these two began feeling stale to me, and I went on to bigger and better things: Visual Basic 6.0. Not long after, VB6 met the same fate, growing to be too tasteless and limited in its scope and expression. At this point, I introduced myself to PHP. I learned PHP in 2004, when I was enthralled by the idea of running my own internet webgame. I called this game Wizard Duels, which eventually went on to garner a user-base of 5000 before I lost interest and moved on to newer projects. I also started doing some freelance work on the side at this point, to put a little money in my empty, teenager pocket. Doing that freelance work lead me to obtain a PHP5 certification sometime in 2006. In 2007, I took a hiatus from programming, only to return a year later, nothing short of obsessive. I soon latched on to the ideology and concepts of the Ruby programming language. Its expression, to me, is beautiful, concise, and powerful in quite its own way. I've spent the past four or more years, from 2008 to now, expanding and refining my Ruby skill set. I am currently studying Computer Science at the University of Central Oklahoma. I am supporting myself through college, which, in these hard times, isn't always the easiest thing to do. Since I already spend most of my time programming, whether for school or personal projects, I imagine it couldn't hurt to try and make my way through my education doing what I already love to study and live to do. Today, I consider myself beyond competent as a programmer. I am easy to work with, reliable, and, once committed to a task, in it to win it. Most importantly, and with as much emphasis as possible, I truly love to code. Programming, to me, is not work: I love it; I live for the act of implementing brilliant ideas. Inhale a problem, exhale solutions.  less

Hello, my name is Patrick Sagan. I am experienced Rails and Ruby developer, software architect who can provide you remote programming services and help create your product in IT area. I can work on existing systems or build new one from scratch. I have deep experience in web development and software architecture. In past I was playing with php (and got some certifications listed below) but currently I'm focused on ruby, rails and sinatra. I have small office based in northern Poland (Pomeranian District), so I work remotely and worldwide. Wherever your company is placed, if it is USA or UK I'm flexible in working hours. I speak English so do not hesitate to contact me. My values: - I am focused on high quality of code ("developer's friendly code") and solutions. - I am focused on delivering great user experience. - I am focused on getting things done, more stuff done and less theoretical words. - I am focused on self-development (currently I am using https://www.codeschool.com/paths/ruby to find new approaches.) - Regarding to building products - I am big fan of rules presentend in "Rework" book of 37 signals (http://37signals.com/rework) - Deep understanding of business requirements - so I build code for business not just to fulfill programming ambitions, which are often different than business requirements I believe that working in company which has similar values gives synergy effect for both: company and employee. Please feel free to check my website to get more information about me and how I work: http://www.dev4.biz. You can also check my another site: http://www.rails-dev.com - with rails recipes - this site is just launched - not so many content there yet.  less

I was recently accepted to the University of Southern California as a computer science major. I've developed my programming skills my entire life, and I'm confident in my ability as a software developer. I specialize in Mac OSX desktop programming in C++/Cocoa, but I have experience programming for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Besides C and C++, I'm comfortable programming in Python, Ruby, Java, and Bash. Apart from programming, jobs I'm willing to take include Website Design and Development (either through a service such as Wordpress or in pure HTML) and system administration work. My past work experience includes a year-long internship at the Phoenix-based engineering company Dignified Motors, and multiple years of work as a general "Technology Consultant" for Values Quest Inc.  less

Full-stack web developer specializing in Ruby on Rails and Ember.js. At the time of writing this, I've launched six Rails apps into production, as well as four Ember apps and an assortment of other projects. I'm also active in the open-source community, maintaining three Ruby gems and contributing to several others. The code I write is well-tested and maintainable, making it easy to add and change features. I utilize technologies such as rspec, qunit, grunt, and bower, and I can build everything from static HTML pages to dynamic one-page apps.  less
