I currently work as a Content Specialist at QASource, a Silicon Valley-based software quality assurance company. My role involves researching and producing all marketing content, including whitepapers, case studies, blog posts, web editorial, landing pages and infographic copy, for QASource and its suite of software testing services. I manage and expedite the editorial calendar and coordinating projects with our in-house sales team and offshore engineering team.
As Marketing Copywriter/Community Manager for Beverlys.com, the e-commerce extension of the California-based Beverly's Fabrics & Crafts chain, I wore several hats. On any given day I could be found interacting with our Facebook fans, crafting a new blog entry, revamping our Pinterest boards or posting to our Instagram account. These social media efforts are tackled alongside more foundational copy work: landing pages, product descriptions, data-entry and page building via Yahoo! Merchant Services.
Prior to my employment with Beverly's, I acted as Head Copywriter and Web QA for the Modesto-based e-commerce brand Message In A Bottle, Inc. MIAB specializes in decorative glass gift bottles, which can be personalized with an enclosed message. Connecting customers with the ones they love is the company’s chief priority, and this goal is realized through elegant graphic design, heartfelt prose and outstanding support from the moment an order is placed until the recipient unwraps their gift.
In my time with the company, I wrote premium content in the form of official blog posts, SEO marketing articles, branded copy (for use on our bottles and enclosed messages) and a host of documents for internal circulation (training guides for new hires). For the company’s Summer of Love email marketing campaign, I crafted copy for five e-mail blasts intended to boost the sale of the bottles in our “Love” category. I was also tasked with establishing a buoyant, playful tone of voice for Message In A Bottle via social media (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc.), as well as on the homepage and in product descriptions. Among the many things I hope to do for your company, giving it a distinct, identifiable voice is key!
In my work for Demand Media Studios, I learned the essentials of SEO and keyword utilization to today's web landscape. Light copy editing duties and the selection of appropriate stock photography were also required.
I also serve as a contributing writer for "On the Mile Magazine", a quarterly publication dedicated to nightlife and upcoming entertainment in Stockton's historic Miracle Mile district. Though I prefer the directness of technical copywriting, I do enjoy the traditional journalistic duties of this position: scheduling interviews, media transcription, feature mapping, research and writing, working with publishing software and collaborating with my coworkers to produce a sleek, attractive product.
Your time and consideration are greatly appreciated. I will be an asset to your company, and I look forward to working with you!
