Being a native U.S. English speaker and based on my 17+ years with Chase Manhattan Bank (New York City and 7 foreign Countries) qualifies me to teach English via Skype to non-English speaking students. My communications skills, personality and experience working in foreign countries support my credentials to teach English via Skype. I have a cheerful outlook on life, a wonderful sense of humor, great people skills and I am serious about successful verbal communications. The goal of my teaching English via Skype is to reduce the student’s accent and build up vocabulary in a conversational non-stress, non-test environment. Currently, some of my spare time is spent offering Seniors free technical support (for PC’s, Internet, mobile phones). Fully 50% of my students are non-native English speaking. After each lesson, I walk away with a feeling of accomplishment at having solved a student’s problem, made one of my Seniors more proficient in technology and improved their English skills all at the same time. Using Skype, I have been able to improve some of my European relatives’ English. I find that Vocabulary Building is easier than Accent Reduction.
