You can access my references here (up to 2016) and later until today more than 70 5 star reviews in proz.com profile peterthegerman: My language skills encompass fluency in English, Spanish, and, of course, German. Additionally, I have a solid understanding of Portuguese and Dutch, acquired during my time in Brazil and Amsterdam, respectively. While I excel at translating English, Spanish, Dutch, and occasionally Portuguese into German. As a native German residing in South America, I have had the privilege of working with various translation agencies. My language combinations include: English - German Spanish - German Dutch – German Portuguese – German Over the years, I have undertaken a wide range of projects, from translating novels by US bestseller authors to eBooks covering topics such as bonds, swing trading, forex market, binary options, and investment theories. Additionally, my portfolio extends to website translations across diverse domains, including tourism, banking, medical, technical, software, IT, and marketing. My experience also encompasses legal translation, having worked on numerous contracts, agreements, and other legal documents (see attached). Some of the prominent companies I have collaborated with include Microsoft, WEBFocus, and Tourist Authority Panama. To execute my translation projects effectively, I utilize various tools, including Trados 2022, MemoQ 10, Wordfast Pro, and other company-specific software such as Memsource (now Phrase). Furthermore, I work as a language lecturer, helping native speakers enhance their German writing skills. My background as a copywriter in a German advertising agency has equipped me with the expertise to craft persuasive and compelling content. This knowledge not only benefits my translation work but also ensures an engaging writing style for the target audience. I possess a strong command of HTML, enabling me to maintain the formatting of websites during translation, preserving the original layout and structure. Additionally, my familiarity with SEO allows me to incorporate keywords, headers, and HTML tags strategically. In my translation process, I ensure that what I translate today undergoes two rounds of proofreading the following day. This approach ensures that the text reads fluently in authentic German, without any traces of the original language. The second proofreading is akin to a lecturer's job, aimed at refining the German language, employing an impressive writing style and selecting the most suitable words and synonyms. Regarding my pricing, my standard rate for translation ranges from 0.07 €/USD to 0.09 €/USD per word, depending on the language, text complexity, and deadline. I am open to providing weekend and 24-hour services. My daily capacity is 5000+ words if there are no other jobs on the desk while projects less than 2000 words can always be done within the same day (please ask). A word to MTPE (Machine Translation Post-Editing): As an advocate for high-quality translations, and to further reinforce my commitment to providing the best services, I want to highlight that I have completed a comprehensive course on ChatGPT, demonstrating my dedication to staying informed about AI advancements. I have also obtained a certificate to validate my knowledge in this domain (attached herewith). And I refrain from employing machine translation for the following reasons: Machine translations can be imprecise and riddled with errors, especially when generated by tools like ChatGPT and similar AI models. These systems may struggle to grasp the context accurately or even forget crucial elements, leading to flawed translations. Machine translation often relies on statistical models and outdated archives, which can result in translations that do not reflect the latest language nuances and developments. My commitment to client confidentiality is unwavering. However, the nature of machine translation involves sending text to the internet for AI improvement, potentially violating existing Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with clients. This raises concerns about the protection of sensitive information. Nevertheless, in the light of the growing prevalence of machine translation tools, it has become essential to engage in post-editing tasks to ensure accuracy, precise word choice, and coherent writing style. I am well-aware of this need and have decided to take on MTPE assignments. Irrespective of the complexity, my rate for MTPE is 0.05 USD/€ per word. Although I have studied English and have been working with the language for nearly 40 years, including living in English-speaking countries for eight years, and even thinking and dreaming in English, I still acknowledge the unparalleled proficiency of a native speaker.
