What's the difference
Overview

Seeking opportunities in Perl oriented (Catalyst DBIC preferred) application development, shell and perl scripting, and BSD/Linux administration projects - to build sites and setup servers for your business or pleasure. In my mind, LAMP more often reads as LASP - Linux, Apache, (any|no)SQL, Perl - of course, with Catalyst, Template Toolkit and DBIx::Class/KiokuDB in pair with some RCS (git is preferred, but subversion, mercurial and others also possible). “Oleg was hired for this high paying position because I thought he could get the job done.He started work, billed for many hours around Christmas time, then suddenly "had a hard drive failure" and could not continue work until after new years. Being the nice guy I am, I said OK. I contacted Oleg after new years and Oleg reaffirms me "he will begin work jan 6-9".I contact Oleg a few weeks later and Oleg DEMANDS a raise ( he's already making $33/hour and is asking for more ), he says he has too many other contracts on the go at higher rates and that if I don't pay him a higher rate then "me job will take the lowest priority".Oleg essentially then blamed this whole situation on me.This was my first Odesk contract and I didn't know I had 1 week to resolve a situation, but even then that is not enough time if you are far into the project.Oleg has provided no proof of any work being done on my project other than the ODESK screenshots and also billed for learning time, talking time, and who knows what else.I hate to say it, but this guy fits the bill of the typical overseas "i can do what I want" type of contractor.Do not use for anything important.”

“Oleg was asked to look at performance issues with a complex web site system written in Perl.We already had some idea of the causes of performance issues.Oleg's conclusions were in line with our existing ideas, he was able to propose suitable solutions, and did a small piece of Perl coding to implement one of them for us.We plan to use Oleg for similar work in future.”
