We're seeking an experienced accountant to join our team and provide comprehensive accounting and financial support for two LLCs. While these LLCs are technically separate entities, they function as one business operation, with one handling the majority of transactions and the other managing fewer. You'll be responsible for categorizing and maintaining accurate records for both companies using QuickBooks, ensuring that all financial transactions are efficiently processed and correctly categorized. Here's a closer look at what we're looking for: Role Responsibilities: Transaction Categorization: For the next 12 months, you will categorize and organize all business transactions in QuickBooks for both LLCs. This includes ensuring accurate record-keeping and financial reporting. One LLC will have the majority of financial activity, while the other will see minimal transactions. Payroll Management Review: One of the LLCs employs staff, and we currently use QuickBooks Payroll to automate payments and handle tax obligations. Your role will include reviewing payroll transactions to verify that tax payments are being made accurately and promptly. Bookkeeping Oversight: Maintain the financial books for both LLCs within QuickBooks, leveraging the linked structure of our accounts to streamline operations. Ensure compliance with internal financial procedures and standards. Year-End Document Preparation: At the end of the year, you will fill out the entire tax return for both LLCs except for personal information like my Social Security number, which I will complete before signing and submitting to the IRS myself. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as an accountant with a solid understanding of QuickBooks, including payroll functionality. Ability to accurately categorize and organize business transactions across multiple entities. Familiarity with federal and state tax regulations. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Capable of preparing year-end tax documents and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards. Compensation: This engagement will be a 12-month contract, paid upfront via Upwork. You will work remotely with access to all necessary financial data. Our business is based in Los Angeles, so candidates located in the LA area are preferred. If you're ready to help keep our books in order and ensure accurate tax compliance, please reach out with your interest. We look forward to finding an accountant who will help us maintain our financial health and transparency for the next year!
